He Missed me /I Miss You

Summary:

“Did you miss me?” he teased, fully expecting the usual scoffed reply of “In your dreams.”

But instead, Edmund hesitated before saying, “Yeah. I miss you.”

"What?".

***
Just Edmund called Peter in midnight cause he missed him

Notes:

How can I add photos here? Because I drew some fan art of Peter and Edmund

Work Text:

Hospital Rest Room – Midnight

Peter was sprawled out on the small cot, exhaustion weighing down his limbs. His shift had been relentless—patients coming in nonstop, paperwork piling up, and barely a second to breathe. His phone vibrated against the bedside table, and with a groggy sigh, he reached for it.

Edmund Calling

Frowning, Peter immediately picked up.

“Ed? What’s wrong?” he asked, sitting up slightly, his brows knitting together.

There was a pause before Edmund’s voice came through the speaker, quieter than usual.

“Nothing’s wrong, I just… wanted to hear your voice.”

Peter let out a tired chuckle, rubbing at his eyes as he leaned his head back against the pillow.

“Did you miss me?” he teased, fully expecting the usual scoffed reply of “In your dreams.”

But instead, Edmund hesitated before saying, “Yeah. I miss you.”

Peter froze, his breath catching in his throat. His sleep-deprived brain scrambled to process what he just heard. “What?” he whispered, voice barely audible.

“I miss you,” Edmund repeated, a little softer this time.

“I know you've been busy, but I just wanted to let you know. I’ll wait for you to come when you’re free, so take your time, okay?”

Peter sat up so quickly he nearly got dizzy, gripping the edge of the cot for balance.

“I’ll come to you tomorrow morning.”

“What?! Wait, Pete—I’m not asking you to come straight to see me tomorrow!”

“Oh, relax Ed, I’m free from morning till afternoon,” Peter said, already swinging his legs off the cot.

“But that doesn’t mean you have to—”

“I’ll come anyways. See you tomorrow lil brother.”

“Pete, wait—!”

But Peter had already ended the call. He tossed his phone aside with a soft thud and leaned back, staring at the ceiling with a goofy grin spreading across his face.

“Oh God,” he whispered to himself, running a hand through his tangled hair.

“He miss me.” A burst of laughter escaped him—light, breathless, almost delirious. His body sank deeper into the thin mattress as if the weight of exhaustion had been replaced by something featherlight and giddy.

He miss me.

“Pevensie!!”

Peter barely noticed his friend, Aidan shaking his shoulder with increasing urgency.

“Oi, Pevensie, what’s  wrong with you? You look like you’ve lost your mind.”

Peter turned his head slowly, his grin unfading. “Edmund says he misses me… This is the best day of my life,” he said dreamily, blinking up at the ceiling like it held all the stars in his world.

Aidan sighed, exasperated, and rolled his eyes.

“Good for you, but you look like you’re about to pass out—”

Before he could finish, Peter swayed forward. The edges of his vision darkened, his body giving in to the long-abandoned need for rest. Then, everything went black.

“Pevensie!” Aidan shouted, catching him just in time.

Hospital Rest Room – Early Morning

The next morning, the nurses found Peter’s bed empty. His coat was gone, his bag missing, and his ID badge nowhere to be seen.

“Where the hell is Pevensie?!” The Senior resident barked.

“Didn’t he collapse last night?” a nurse asked, bewildered.

AIdan pointed to a note scribbled hastily on the bedside table. The ink was smudged, as if written in a rush.

Gone to see Edmund. Don’t wait for me.

"Yeah he said last night, his little brother missed him"

The Senior groaned in unison, shoulders slumping.

“Unbelievable,” the nurse muttered, pressing her fingers to the bridge of her nose as if fending off a headache.
