"It's good to meet someone who understands," Mithos said.
Genis only smiled, but he felt the same way.
Growing up, he'd never met another half-elf, other than his sister -- and the Desians. Though he'd heard plenty -- how loathsome, how deserving of death they were.
Genis couldn't help but think humans were the loathsome ones -- narrow-minded, hateful.
Mithos understood -- carried that same self-hatred, displacement, that spark of righteous anger. Genis wanted to spend more and more time with him.
And then…and then...
"We were never friends," Mithos Yggdrassill said, his face twisting into a cruel smile. And Genis' world shattered.
