Ever since Pure vanilla was a small cookie he had a hard time getting other cookies to listen to him, he was not a loud speaker and valued other cookies opinions over his own at times. Even during his time as healer cookie whenever he tried to intervene between the fights that broke out between the raisin cookies, his glare was most often compared to a sad cakehound rather than anything intimidating.
Well he didnt want to be viewed as an intimidating or imposing figure! It was not in his jam to be aggressive or assertive, he preferred to be gentle and have patience especially when dealing with his patients and later his subjects.
Even after gingerbrave and his friends helped reclaim the vanilla kingdom, during the rebuilding efforts many fights broke out about what buildings should be placed where.
He could remember many times when Black Raisin cookie tried to get him to stand up for himself but it never did work out well....

"We should place the bakery next to river!" shouted one raisin cookie, "No! Its obvious you only want the bakery there because it looks nice! It makes more sense to place the production factories there!" shouted another
Pure Vanilla simply sighed trying to intervene and break up the argument, "Excuse me I believe that-"
"NO! We should place more cookie houses next to the river!" said another cutting pure vanilla off.
At this point he normally would let the cookies figure it out themselves, but they had been discussing the same topic all day, going back and fourth.
Pure vanilla was trying to glare at the group to get them to stop but not a single cookie even noticed he was there. He heard a person laughing behind him, and as he turned around he saw black raisin cookie doubled over laughing.
"And what might be so funny? hm?" Glaring at black raisin only made her laugh more. It took her a good few minutes to compose herself as Pure vanilla was still staring at her confused.
"sorry sorry its just you look like one of cute cakehounds trying to get its owners attention! Not like a king but your stare made me think you were pouting its just HAH-" before doubling over again as Pure vanilla started to glare at her one more time before sighing defeated.
"Since your here do you think YOU can do a better job hm? If you want to try to wrangle these cookies be my guest" Said Pure Vanilla turning back around to see the group of cookies still arguing over what buildings to put around the river area of the land.
"Sure then il show you how its done!" Black Raisin said before whistling once to her raven, as her raven and multiple flew up and started to circle the group of cookies before with just a single cough from black raisin cookie, the group who was previously debating instantly quieted down.
Pure vanilla just stared at her in shock, she managed to wrangle the cookies into listening for more than a few seconds within a under minute!
Turning back around she told pure vanilla, "And thats what you have to do, simple really" smiling before turning back to the group of cookies and quickly giving orders for the cookies to follow.

During his time at the spire with Shadow Milk Cookie he was so drained from the yogurt river of rebirth he was not quiet focusing on being as kind and patient with said cookie. And when Shadow Milk did get under his nerves he learned within a short time his usual glare was nothing for the beast cookie, in fact the first time he did Shadow milk wouldnt stop laughing at him. If he was to play the role of a cookie lost to deceit then he would play it.
Anytime the Shadow milk called him his, "Vanilly" or his "little recluse" he decided he needed a way to silence him lest he looses his facade.
Eventually he developed a way to quickly silence him just like Black Raisin could all that time ago, and maybe he forgot this little development and deemed it unnecessary to think of and adjust before his old friends arrived.

Today was the day Hollyberry, Dark Cacao, and Golden cheese would visit the Vanilla kingdom for a meeting regarding the new development with the beast cookies! Granted silent salt was still missing it was important for them to discuss what happened in beast yeast and review what Pure Vanilla learned during his time in the spire of deceit.
However, the formal conversations quickly died down when Golden cheese started arguing with Pure Vanilla cookie about the possibility of redemption for the beasts.
"Sure maybe you think that your counter half could be redeemed but I know the second the Beast gets bored of redemption he will cause chaos wherever he goes!" Which Pure Vanilla couldn't really deny as from what he heard about Burning Spice, it was an accurate assumption.
"I agree, even the beast of sloth has low chances of redemption, why waste our resources for them. We have war to prepare for!" Shouted Dark Cacao cookie.
"Hold on now I think he has a good idea! Ive heard rumors the beast of sloth is not as ruthless as you might think!" Hollyberry cookie stated replying to both golden cheese and dark cacao.
The three cookies started going back and fourth about what to do about the beasts, slowly rising in tone and anger as their personal views started to collide.
"We have war to fight against dark enchantress!" "The beasts would be better on our side!" "So we just forgive their actions no extra thought? How foolish we all have our treasures we must protect!" All three cookies shouted, standing up at their chairs around the table, shouting more and more as Pure Vanilla was still seated, getting more and more annoyed. This was not the time for infighting he thought, they all had valid points but fighting amongst themselves will get them no where!
Standing up abruptly he shouted, "could you all CALM DOWN FOR ONE MINUTE" using the same tone and glare he used against shadow milk during his time as truthless recluse.
Instantly the room quieted down, all three cookies staring at shock at him. Realizing what he did and how he acted Pure Vanilla quickly began to apologize.
"Oh my friends im sorry I didnt mean to startle-"
"WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU MY FRIEND" boomed Dark Cacao cookie who for a man whos usually very stoic had a very large expression of shock on his face.
Golden cheese nodded, "I dont think Ive even seen you glare at your sheep when they flee what changed??" She stood there also in shock at Pure Vanilla, wondering what happened in Beast Yeast that would cause such a drastic change.
On the other hand, Hollyberry cookie started to laugh, "Its about time you grew a backbone King of the Vanilla Kingdom hah! This calls for a round of juice!"
Shaking his head, "Oh no my friends im sorry I never meant to yell!" Pure Vanilla waved his hands around franticly apologizing to his friends.
Golden cheese started laughing, "Well at least this development from your time a beast yeast proves useful!"
Breaking out of his confusion Dark Cacao nodded, "Yes uh very useful for a king to be able to control a rowdy group of cookies"
Pure vanilla hid his face in his hands out of shame, "Im sorry my friends I didnt mean to startle you!"
"Its very much alright my friend! Tensions were too high! Lets head out and grab something to eat shall we? Enough talk about darkness lets catch up!" Said hollyberry cookie, grabbing her shield she started to head for the door, "And maybe we will pry information out of pure Vanilla cookie about just what caused him to change hah!" she said before existing the room.
As Golden cheese and Dark Cacao made their way out of the room at least he knew his friends were unafraid and for some reason enjoyed this new development, and well eating a meal with his friends would surely raise his own mood as he sighed and left the room as well running to catch up with his friends.
"I bet that cookie is out there laughing at me now" muttered Pure Vanilla under his breath as he saw his friends walking down the hallway, and lets just say Shadow milk was in fact watching and was also laughing so hard he accidently smacked his head from floating too high. He would infact blame his injury on Pure Vanilla next time they met.
