Chapter 1: The Reckoning

Chapter Text

The man in black armor closes the autobiography and returns it to the large white library. The lights turn on as Reality enters the room behind him.

"In my defense, they wrote that, not me." He teases.

"Right, and bears don't shit in the woods." He turns back to Reality and activates his armor. A rich dark purple fills the details of the Omen armor as his face under the hood is covered by his Omen Emblem, a fragmented V that's split into 3 sections.

"Can we like, not fight here?" Reality pleads teasingly as he activates his own armor, his Vortex Emblem appearing for a short second before he takes off his hood.

[New York City, Reality' s World, 10 AM]

A violent explosion erupts from a tall, narrow skyscraper, prompting the bystanders to stop in their tracks and watch as Reality plummets down. Landing on the road, the people begin cheering for him, Reality scratches his head and puts the hoodie back on.

Above, the other Omen peers down through the shattered glass. His arm glows, dark purple smokes crawl to his gauntlet and an aura spreads from it. He touches the wall, and the aura spears like the plague, consuming the entire building. The iron rusts, the glass cracks and the foundation of the skyscraper buckles, tilting the entire thing to the side.

"That's gonna be expensive to fix…" Reality mutters as he dashes away with a flash. He watches from afar as the skyscraper collapses.

[Coney Island Beach, New York City, Reality's World]

The sun on his metallic scales, and sleeping on the sand, Cipher raises his head in frustration as he sees the giant tower fall on its side. The small dragon reluctantly rises and shakes the sand away before teleporting to Reality's shoulder.

"What's happening here?" Cipher asks.

"Oooh, sorry your majesty, was I disturbing your sunbath?" Reality sarcastically replies as the purple Omen leaps to the sidewalk a few meters away.

The Omen's armor shifts mechanically and the smokey aura on his hands turns to short electrical strikes vibrating around it.

"So, what's an Omen of your caliber doing in here?" Reality asks.

"Flattery will get you anywhere, Reality, except of course, around me!" He touches the ground and the sidewalk begins turning into lumps of dull silver-grey metal. Reality dashes away as the ground where he stood imploded.

Reality flicks a flash and releases Cipher from his back, who grows to a towering height as he flies towards the blinded Omen.

When the flash bang ends, Cipher can be seen stuck in battle with a giant black dragon with metallic scales and multiple rows of sharp teeth.

The dragon pushes Cipher into a nearby apartment building and flies back to stand behind his master.

"Good Job DAD…" purple Omen says.

"Your dragon is your dad!?" Reality scoffs "Well that's not something you see every day!"

"It's an abbreviation!" He frustratingly growls "It stands for Dark Armed Dragon!"

"Right right! And bears don't shit in the woods!" Reality shouts back.

Angered, the Omen takes an overlay unit from his belt and throws it up to the mouth of his dragon.

"Dark Armed Dragon! CATACLYSM!" The Dragon's maw surges with that dark energy and smoke, and it strikes down on the ground. Seeing that, Cipher quickly teleports himself and Reality away into the sky and they watch as multiple city blocks rapidly crack and collapse before being leveled down. The dragon and his master then vanish.

"Well, we tried!" Reality says dismissively.
