Chapter 1: The Announcement

Chapter Text

It was a seemingly normal day for Mob: get ready, go to school, get through classes, and ignore Asagiri as best as he can. His day hadn't been anything out of the ordinary. That was until his last class of the day.

Mob was drifting in and out of sleep during chemistry, when he hears his teacher's voice boom over the chattering students, "Alright class, I have a special announcement!"

Teru, who was sitting in the chair next to him, beings to (not so quietly) whisper to Mob "This is interesting...What do you think the so called 'special announcement' will be about?"

Tome replies, twisting her body around from the table infront "He's probably over exaggerating and it's going to be that we've been given some new science equipment or something."

"To be fair we do need more science equipment."

Tome and Teru continue to whisper-talk while Mob is trying to listen to whatever the teacher is rambling on about, so that he can acctually find out what the 'special announcement' was. Just as their conversation begins to die down, the chemistry teacher finally get to the point of his long, drawn out speech.

"We're going on a field trip to..." he drums his fingers dramatically against his desk, "Spirit Tower!" the teacher exclaims enthusiastically.

"This could only happen to you Shigeo, only you." Dimple grins as he rolls around the air howling.

"Oh." is all Mob says, but as the students errupt with excitement, Mob is utterly confused. Shishou's tower? Why would people want to go there out of all places? Of course it's cool, I mean Mob literally lives there, but it isn't like Reigen is famous or anything..?

Teru halts Mob's train of thought to a stop with animated actions, "Kageyama, we're headed to your master's tower, how cool is that?"

Mob replies, still clueless "Yes but why is everyone so excited for this?"

A dumbfounded Teru does not have the heart to explain that the Mystics are the most famous people on earth, so he sweetly replies "It's alright Kageyama, don't worry about it."

Dimple, who was still trying to contain his laughter mutters "God, kid how oblivious are you?" Which earns him a subtle yet painful pinch from Teru.

Their chemistry teacher calms the class, and explains that both third and second years are going on this trip, and it's happening this Friday. The bell rings after what felt like hours of chemistry, so Mob and Tome begrudingly say their goodbyes to Teru and make their way over to their telepathy club.

As they arrive at the hall, everyone is still jittering with enthusiasm about the recently announced field trip, yet even with the loud chatter echoing around the hall, Asagiri spots Mob from her corner near the wall. "Hey loser! You ready for your stupid lies to be exposed?"

Mob, who is confused as to what he'd be lying about, replies "But I'm not lying about anything?"

"Yeah and I'm part of the Mystics." she scoffs back.

Mob, who was used to Asaigiri's antics, simply ignores her rigorous teasing. However, Dimple and Tome were not. As Tome is giving Asagiri looks that could kill the entirety of Claw, Dimple is roaring "Let me at her Shigeo! Let me at her!" whilst waving his arms about pitifully whilst being held back by the smallest trace of Mob's power.

The rest of the club continues on as usual, only with a few extra snide comments than necessary from Asagiri, and Dimple begging to possess her every five minutes. Eventually, Onigawara declares the end of practice for today, and the team part ways and begin on their journey home.
