    There is something so addicitve about hating someone. But did you truly hate him? You wanted to slam your head into a door every time he opened that smartass mouth of his but you found yourself entertaining every single one of his (obvious) provocations. No you definitely didn't hate him...but the feeling could not be described as fondness or anything of the sort either. Maybe the two of you were just addicted to one another regardless of how much you both denied it. And you absolutely hated it.
