His stomach felt quisy, his face burned. He heard her voice again.
“You’re too late, Ekko…”
Was that the first time she said his actual name in over two years?
But instead of making his heart throb like it used to, the sound of her voice made it break.

Ekko took a moment to lean on the handrail nearby and draw a breath.
