When Christmas Comes

Summary:

The Cinnamon Bear is a wonderful radio show and doesn't have enough online content. This is here to fix that with short stories about Judy and Jimmy Barton.

Work Text:

When the children woke up the morning of Christmas they didn't know what to expect. Judy and Jimmy had recently come back from maybe land and brought the repaired silver star with them. It was broken, and repaired many times on there travel. They had met Paddy ó Cinnamon, the cinnamon bear, the Crazy quilt dragon, Presto the magician, Queen Melissa of Maybe land, and even Santa Claus!

As they raced down the stairs to have breakfast, they saw it was snowing. And it was a steady snowfall. Not one that is going to melt in mere hours, but one that stays and is prefect to play in. Judy smiled and pointed out to Jimmy that Jack Frost must have done this. Because what else could this be?

When it was time for presents, the family gathered and opened them together. Near the very end, Judy found a letter addressed to her and Jimmy underneath the tree. She brought it over and they opened it. Inside was pocket looking glass, a copper key, and a folded letter. The letter had read:

Dear Judy and Jimmy,

We hope you are doing well, especially your silver star. Crazy quilt dragon has started to work in the palace and Queen Melissa wishes you the best. Presto, that phony magician, has managed to make the rabbits following him disappear. Professor whiz has started to work at a university teaching Latin and Grammar. Fee Fo and scaredy cat has been released from the winter green witch's magic forest, along with everyone else. Jack Frost still wonders if the offer to learn to front a cake is still available and asks if he could bring Nicki with him.

Best of wishes,

Paddy ó Cinnamon.

P.S. - enjoy the looking glass Judy, and the Key is the key to the Queen Melissa's throne room.

The children were stunned that they had sent a letter to the real world. They were also grateful that they had sent gifts as well.

That year, Judy and Jimmy, had decided that that was the best Christmas they ever had.
