The Gospel of Ash and Salt

Summary:

In the house of Satou, worship is carved into skin.

Gashu is the priest. Kai is the disciple. Sei is the lamb led to slaughter.

Raised under the gospel of obedience, Kai learns to kneel, to suffer, to call her father's cruelty sacred. But somewhere beneath the bruises and doctrine, she begins to steal pieces of a gentler world—cookbooks, letters, stories. And with them, she writes her own scripture: one of warmth, of resistance, of mercy.

Told across fractured timelines and scorched prayers, this is the story of a cathedral built from blood—and a girl who dared to set it on fire.

AKA my take on the Satou lore. Not 100% canon because again, it's my interpretation of it. I'm just obsessed with the religious symbolism ngl. Also I do write Kai as a girl so if that bothers you than this is not for you lol.

Chapter 1: PROLOGUE: THE PRAYER HE TAUGHT HER

Chapter Text

Our God, who sees from the shadows,

Hallowed be our cause.

Thy order come,

Thy judgment done—

In this house, as it is in heaven.

Grant me this child, my instrument,

And forgive no weakness,

As we purge it from the flesh.

Lead her not into freedom,

But deliver her unto purpose.

For mine is the vision,

And the law,

And the flame—forever.

Amen.
