Cody is a girl crazy boy. Everyone knows this. Sure he’s not keen on Sierra, but have you seen the girl? She’s crazy for him. Like actually crazy, not just in the hyperbolic sense. He was trying to get together with Gwen for half of the season and was absolutely devastated when she was eliminated.
So can someone explain to him why he’s so flustered right now? You see, Alejandro had just invited him up to first class with him after his win in Africa. The mere thought was enough to make Cody feel…something. He recognizes the feeling. It’s the way he feels whenever Gwen gives him attention. But it can’t be the same feeling,
Honestly this was not the first time his feelings for Alejandro had been confusing. There had actually been several times that this was the case. The first of which happened in New York.
They were both at the top of Lady Liberty and Cody had just realized that Sierra was making a complete fool of herself. And for once she was so busy bothering Chris she wasn’t harassing him. Alejandro’s eyes caught his and the Spaniard had smirked.
Was this his doing? Did he give him some respite from Sierra? He doesn’t know if it’s intentional, but it seems like it could be. And the fact that he had helped him in some small way made him feel something. He’s not sure what, but it feels nice.
Then there was the time after Paris. He’d been so upset. He’s finally trying to stand his ground, get Sierra to leave him alone, and all his team did was blame him for her behavior until he had to apologize to her. Apologize to Sierra for trying to vote her off even after all the things she’s done to him.
Needless to say he did not feel like hanging around his team. He felt pretty resentful of the whole situation. So he was holed up in the cargo hold when he heard footsteps. At first he was concerned, but listening closely it was clear that Sierra was not the person making them. There was a click of heels.
Cody went through the people still on the plane. He hadn’t made it halfway through when a voice cut through his thoughts. “Cody? What are you doing here?”
Cody looked up into the murky green eyes of Alejandro. He swallowed. The man seemed so big compared to him. It felt like he towered over him, and yet somehow this did not feel bad. In fact it made him feel almost excited?
“I needed to be alone.” Cody told him. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m here for much the same reason.” He explained. “I simply needed a break from my eclectic teammates.”
“Can you not tell anyone I’m here?” He asked.
“You’re still upset about the events of today.” Alejandro nodded.
“Wouldn’t you be? I didn’t mean any of that apology. I just said it to get everyone off my back.” Cody sighed.
“I can see why. Sierra doesn’t respect your boundaries at all.” The spaniard replied.
“Exactly!” Cody felt so validated.
“Still, if you remain here Sierra will surely find you. You can hide in the luggage compartment in economy class.” He offered.
“Thanks.” Cody smiled.
Then there was Jamaica which wasn’t really an interaction. It was more like Cody couldn’t stop looking at Alejandro in his speedo. No one should look that good in a speedo. In fact Cody had been convinced that no one should wear a speedo. Alejandro changed his mind. He felt warm behind the ears.
There was that time after area 51. They were in the cargo hold again, and Alejandro had ran into him. Apparently he was tired of listening to Duncan and Owen. Which Cody can’t blame him for. He hates Duncan.
“I assume you’re hiding from Sierra?” He asked.
“Partly. I also just needed to get away from all the tension. Like Courtney’s radiating this aura of hate. And then there’s rhe fact that I cloned myself earlier and watched it explode into goo. That was certainly off putting.” Cody rambled.
“I can see that your team is not in a good way. It is a shame that this whole mess is going on.” Alejandro nodded.
From there they chatted about their respective problems.
Then there was the wedding episode. Cody had felt so betrayed by Alejandro. He was acting like Sierra was actually married to him. Cody knows it was probably to get her vote, but it still hurt.
Which leads to now. They’re sitting on the couch together, and Cody had to wonder why Alejandro would invite him to first class. So of course that was the first thing he asked.
“Well I felt that I needed to make up for my actions. I should have never pretended that your wedding to Sierra was valid. Seeing you in that backpack thing, completely helpless. If made me realize that it was wrong of me.” Alejandro explained.
“Oh.” Cody was relived to hear that. More than relived in fact, it felt genuinely nice. It was a feeling that enveloped his entire body. His face was flushed, his palms were sweaty, his heart pounded, and his legs felt weak.
It’s exactly like with Gwen. Which is impossible. He’s girl crazy. He’s not into guys. Yet somehow Alejandro is different. Cody doesn’t know why.
“And I must admit, that might not have been my only reason.” The Spaniard continued, running his eyes over Cody’s form, his presence once again making Cody feel so small. But he’s not scared. If anything it makes him even more excited.
“Y-yeah?” Cody swallowed.
Alejandro drew closer to him, until their hips touched. “Yes, you see I have grown quite fond of you over the season.” He leaned closer to him their lips are nearly touching now, and Alejandro’s presence is stronger than ever. He feels lost in it, but somehow he doesn’t want to find his way out.
“I-I.” He stammered.
“I think you need some positive attention after what you’ve been through.” Alejandro whispered, closing the gap between their lips. Cody is overwhelmed by Alejandro’s domineering presence. It feels good. This loss of control.
It’s odd because he never felt in control with Sierra and that was awful. This was different somehow, and he realizes why with a start. He’d never wanted to give Sierra control, and she’d taken it anyway. With Alejandro, Cody had given himself over. He’s not sure when it happened but he knows it’s true.
Maybe being girl crazy and liking guys aren’t as mutually exclusive as he thought.
