Chapter Text
The members of Class 3-A are gathered in the common room for a movie night with Midoriya, Todoroki, and Sato in charge of gathering snacks and drinks before they start the night. Ashido and Kaminari had gathered them all to celebrate everyone passing their finals for their first semester saying "1/4th of our last year in U.A being over needs a celebration!"
"AGH" followed by the sound of things breaking has everyone currently in the common room turning their heads to the direction of the sound occurring from the kitchen. They can see the three boys rushing down towards the floor as Sato says "Midoriya, don't grab the glass!"
Todoroki pulls Midoriya's hands towards himself and away from the ground to stop Midoriya, saying "It's okay Izuku, don't try to pick up the pieces. We can get the broom to clear them away."
Hanta, who is closest to the hallway can see the slight grimace Midoriya has on his face and Todoroki rubbing Midoriya's hands and wrists as he lifts Midoriya away from the glass and Sato quickly brushes the pieces into a dustpan. Everyone in the class knows of Midoriya's frequent pain flashes in his arms and hands that render him to lose his grip on things or locks up his fingers, and although no one blames Midoriya for the way he sometimes drops things, they can see the guilt on his face when someone helps to clean or picks up the things he drops. Hanta hears Todoroki say "It's okay Izuku let's warm up your hands, warmth helps right?"
"I'm sorry for dropping the bowls Sato, I swear I'll replace them."
As Sato finishes throwing the pieces of the bowls away he smiles at Midoriya to say "It's fine Midoriya, I was honestly thinking of getting new equipment because I've had those bowls since first year and I was getting fed up with the stains that are too stubborn to be washed away."
Just like everyone knows Midoriya deals with frequent flashes of pain and the guilty look he always wears, everyone has figured out excuses they know Midoriya would reluctantly accept. And like always, Todoroki continues massaging Midoriya's hands with his left hand, no doubt warming up his skin to give more relief to Midoriya. "See? It's not a big deal Izuku, we can ask Aizawa-sensei if we can go out the day after tomorrow to buy replacements."
Midoriya turns to Todoroki, the slight grimace on his face slowly fading as he says, "It's okay Shoto, I can go by myself..."
"Nope, I promise I'm okay going with you, plus it'll be a nice outing to celebrate finishing 1/4th of our last year."
Hanta sees the little giggle Midoriya makes has Todoroki's smile a little bigger than as he already was whilst comforting Midroiya, "Ashido and Kaminari are rubbing off on you."
Todoroki shrugs, looking down to his hands that are still massaging Midoriya's hands and says, "It makes me happy knowing we're close to becoming official heroes and 1/4th done just means the next time we get to celebrate, we'd be done with 1/2 of our last year..."
Hanta has noticed that since the war ended Todoroki has become more open but he only gets to see Todoroki ramble when he's trying to get Midoriya's attention on himself. When Todoroki is helping Midoriya with his hands Todoroki's eyes never stray from Midoriya's hands or Midoriya himself, and when they're all gathered together Todoroki never really looks anywhere but towards Midoriya.
From where Hanta is, he can see that Todoroki has once again made himself the center of Midoriya's attention with his words and hands that he's sure Midoriya doesn't register Sato taking out new bowls to replenish the snacks and by the time Sato has finished, Hanta notices that Todoroki has turned himself so that Midoriya finally sees Sato and the finished snacks. Before Midoriya can say anything, Todoroki holds out Midoriya's hands then steps slightly away so Sato can place the bowls onto Midoriya's hands and they both herd Midoriya away from the kitchen into the living room.
As soon as the three are near, Mina, who had been standing near the TV says "So! We need votes, is tonight a Disney night or Marvel night?!"
Like any time they gather in the common room, Hanta sees Todoroki pull Midoriya to sit on his left side, grabbing Midoriya's right hand to continue giving warmth and massages. Hanta also sees the little smile Midoriya directs to Todoroki has gotten him to blush and returns a little smile of his own. Hanta finds himself also smiling seeing the interaction and silently wishes them all the best. They deserve it.
