Hollyberry looks down at the pregnancy test in her hands… two lines, the control and the pregnancy indicator.
‘Shit,’ she thought, while holding back some tears.
Eternal Sugar and her had talked about having a baby a couple times, sure.. but right now? She knew they didnt use protection while scissoring recently, but she thought nothing would happen… This can't happen. Not right now, as they're about to move back to the Hollyberry kingdom.
She had just convinced Eternal Sugar to leave the paradise, and having a young one coming will only lead Eternal Sugar to become more controlling. After all the progress they had in therapy, they couldn't afford a baby. Not now.
“Oh Hollyberry~” Eternal Sugar called out from the other room over, “come on out, love! Our plane is leaving soon, we have to make it to the airport!”
Hollyberry dried a tear from her cheek before standing up from the edge of the bathtub she was sitting on. “Coming, sugar..”
Hollyberry exited the bathroom, trying her hardest to conceal her feelings. “I'm ready, love,” she smiles.
Eternal Sugar smiles back before embracing her other half. “I'm so glad I have you,” she sighs. “And who knows, maybe one day we'll have kids running around, sharing the love we have for eachother~”
Hollyberry stiffened, pulling away from the embrace. “Let's… let's get in the car, so we aren't late for the flight..”
Eternal Sugar raises an eyebrow at Hollyberry. “Are you ok?”
Hollyberry manages an uncomfortable laugh. “OK? I'm more than ok. I just… need a beer…”
She hurriedly headed to the fridge, where she had beer on the whole door of the fridge. She grabs one of her favorites, closes the fridge, and opens the can. It makes a nice cskkk sound while being opened. She took a sip, immediately sending pain to her heart. She grasps it, trying to ignore the guilt. She was going to abort this baby either way, she decided. There was no good to come from it. What's a little alcohol poisoning going to do? The baby's other mother was quite literally a poison type, it would be fine.
Or so she truly hoped it would.
She takes another sip, swallowing down her guilt, before she feels arms wrapping around her waist.
“Love,” Eternal Sugar beckons, ”let's head out…” She kisses Hollyberry's neck, lingering her head on Hollyberry's shoulders afterwards.
“Yes,” she sighs, “let us go to the airport…”
They exit their penthouse apartment in the Paradise, their bags (and beer in Hollyberry's case) in hand, ready to start a new chapter. They go down to the first floor, where they find their driver waiting for them. They put their luggage in the car and head out.
By the time they reached the airport, something felt off. The glistening white floors of the Beast-Yeast airport felt less vibrant. The lively environment felt dull. ‘It's probably nothing,’ they both thought.
After getting to the gate directly because the TSA didn't exist yet, Hollyberry sat down, slumping down, looking at her stomach. She slightly touched it, feeling sick as she did so, though that was probably the beers fault.
“Dear,” Eternal Sugar Sat down next to her, looking directly into her eyes, “I can tell something is bothering you. What's wrong? Do you wish to stay in the paradise?”
“It's truly nothing,” Hollyberry quickly deflected. “I am just anxious to… get home. Back to my kingdom, you know?”
“Yes… yes… but I can tell something is off… please love?” Eternal Sugar's voice was soft, beckoning Hollyberry to tell the truth… and yet, Hollyberry knew the truth would ruin them. Their whole relationship was bound to come tumbling down with a child.
All of a sudden, a hand touched Hollyberry's stomach. Eternal Sugar's hand. She didn't mean to awaken anything, just get closer to her love, and yet when she didn't, Hollyberry flinched, moving backwards, away from the hand.
“Hollyberry, what did I do,” Eternal Sugar questions, “what is happening, dear?”
Hollyberry cries, “I'm pregnant, ok?”
Eternal Sugar's face lights up, her eyes start glowing, and she starts flying above her seat. “We're pregnant?? Really?”
Hollberry covers her face. “Yes,” she coldly responds, clearly not matching the energy.
“Oh, dear, I am so excited at these news,” Eternal Sugar enthused, before trying to match Hollyberry's energy, “yet you do not seem overjoyed, my other half. What's wrong?”
“Im aborting it.”
The sentence held in the air, taking both of their voices away.
“No,” Eternal Sugar proclaims, “no you are not.”
Hollyberry looks to Eternal Sugar, confused by the response she received. “Eternal Sugar, I am sorry but-”
“No,” Eternal Sugar cries, falling down to the ground, hugging Hollyberry's knees. “No, you can't! No! I've tried! I've tried to have babies for years! And they all come out dead! Dead and defeated by my own poison. Please. Please let me try to raise one. Please, Hollyberry. I love you. And I'll love this child! More than you could ever imagine!”
“I made my choice,” Hollyberry responded, holding back tears and turning her head away from her sobbing other half.
Eternal Sugar's head falls into Hollyberry's knees, sobs escaping her throat.
The intercom crackled. “Boarding call, Crispian Airlines flight 11.”
“That's our boarding call…” Hollyberry sadly stated. Tears had started to flow down her cheeks.
“I'm staying,” Eternal Sugar sobbed.
Hollyberry sighed, “This is the reason why I wanted the abortion, Love… Look at how you are, it wouldn't be healthy…”
Eternal Sugar looked up to Hollyberry, eyes red and puffy, tears staining her cheeks. “Please, I'll be a good mother! Please, Love!! Hollyberry, Please!”
Hollyberry slowly got up, holding Eternal Sugar's hands, who slowly followed behind Hollyberry's steps.
They both boarded the plane next to each other, Eternal Sugar holding onto Hollyberry, not daring to let go, tears still flowing. She held tightly, occasionally touching the stomach and sobbing harder, and though that bothered Hollyberry a bit, she didn’t speak out against it.
Though this baby was against Hollyberry's wishes, she understood Eternal Sugar's grief.
“Please, sweet one,” Hollyberry brushed Eternal Sugar's hair, “can we discuss this later?”
“You have a kid. He survived. You don't know what it's like. Over and over,” Eternal Sugar sobbed.
“Later,” Hollyberry beckoned, taking a sip from juice they provided on board.
“Please,” Eternal Sugar begged, “stop drinking that! Please, give our baby a chance! See if they can survive even through the poison.”
“I need to be drunk for this,” Hollyberry sighed before sipping once again, before a hand slapped the juice away. “Hey! Stop it, ok?” Hollyberry pushed Eternal Sugar away, fuming and slurring her words together. The alcohol had definitely entered her bloodstream by now. “I'm glad your fucking babies died.”
All of a sudden, the plane halted in its tracks, crashing into a tall tower. Not just any tower, but one of the twin towers from the Hollyberrian kingdom.
Both cookies, who were fighting previously, stopped in their tracks. Then, the law of momentum came into play, throwing both Hollyberry and Eternal Sugar into the seats in front of them, head first.
After their bodies returned to their original positions, the 2 looked at eachother, both sobbing. They looked around the plane, all the other cookies crumbled. Only their devine bodies remained.
“I didn't mean it,” Hollyberry cried, “I'm sorry I've been so cold and rude.”
Eternal Sugar just continued crying, her long sweet sobs echoing through the destroyed cabin.
“Immortality is such a sweet price whenever you can't pass it on,” she sobbed, hugging her own knees. “You keep drinking yourself to oblivion, and I'm the only one who has to change? I'm the manipulator, I'm the narcissist, I'm the bi-polar one, and you're perfection! Perfection with a raging alcohol addiction!”
Hollyberry's tears started falling uncontrollably. “I didn't mean to.”
“Mean to what? Imply I'd be a terrible mother because of all my mental issues? Thank the witches all my babies died even before they got a chance at life? What didn't you mean to do, Hollyberry,” Eternal Sugar cried.
“I'm sorry, I’m drunk, I didn't mean to imply or do any of those things,” Hollyberry exclaimed, “please forgive me.”
“When will you quit drinking? I went to therapy with you for all my problems, what time will we consider yours,” Eternal Sugar sobbed. “I used to think you were my perfect better half. Where is she now? Back home, before she drank that first beer, after she discovered our, not just hers, OUR baby was in her womb and decided to abort without even saying a word?”
They both sat in silence, sobbing, looking around at all the damage their crash had done, before getting up and flying away from the wreckage. They landed near a lake, where they both came close together holding eachother tight.
“Don't leave me,” Eternal Sugar sniffled.
Hollyberry wiped tears from Eternal Sugar's eyes, kissing her at every opportunity she got. “I could never leave you.”
Eternal Sugar put her hand near Hollyberry's womb. “Please, let our baby have a fighting chance. If it goes naturally I will not fight, but please just let it try to grow.”
Hollyberry sobbed, and Eternal Sugar soon joined. Their sobs were loud and pain-filled, mourning over everything that had happened today.
“I'll try,” Hollyberry weeped, “I'll try to give this child a fighting chance. But this means we both go to therapy. And we both get help for our immense issues.”
Eternal Sugar smiled, eyes still filled with tears, “that's fine by me.”
After a while of simply laying down, cuddling, and kissing each other near the vast beautiful lake, Hollyberry broke their desired silence.
“Let's head back to the Hollyberry Kingdom. I'm sure my son will be worried for us, and He'll need help during the difficult time the plane hijackers caused.”
Eternal Sugar smiled, a sweet and genuine smile. “I'll follow you.”
