ROUTE 0 SPOILERS

A what if scenario of Takumi having a similar disorder as Eito... and they're put together to hopefully uncover something more about this peculiar condition... well it's certainly troubling for both of them more than anything.

Notes:

Chapter Text

A perfectly sterile environment, as it should be, even if it can be suffocating at times, this limited, secluded room is better than anything out there, to Eito, at least. Stricken with a very-very rare cognitive disorder, there’s not much anyone can do, this is probably the 4th hospital he tried in this year alone, and the calendar still points to the end of April, there’s still so much time left until the year changes, not like it matters much since he’s stuck in a pretty similar room throughout.

He lazily looks at the monitor that measures him at all times, it’s normal, as most days are… on top of his rare condition, he too is physically weak, it’s funny how it seems the world curses his existence through and through, he chuckles aimlessly as he’s reminded once more about his less than fortunate circumstance.

Well it’s pretty much decided when one day he wakes up and the world terrifies him to no end, horrible puke-inducing stench, screeching sounds that assault his ears, and the grotesque red blood and organs protruding out everywhere he goes, he didn’t understand it wasn’t normal, he just reacted how anyone would.

That is, screaming and covering his senses as much as possible, his ‘mother’ and ‘father’ tries to calm him down, but the more they talk, the more his head rings and their smells stab his nose, so in an attempt to reassure him, his parents end up rendering him unconscious.

And so, his journey of aimlessly trying to ‘cure’ him starts.
It’s been going on for more or less three years.
Maybe he should start doing something himself to ‘fix’ it.

Takumi wakes up in the school infirmary again, it’s the third time this week. He looks around and notices one of the school nurses is attending him, he lazily sits up and asks for the time. It’s still early, sometimes around 10AM. Trying to check him, the nurse reaches his forehead-

“Do you have a thermometer?” He asks, interrupting the ‘hand’ approaching him, a bit weirded out, the nurse moves away and tests his temperature, it’s normal.

Again, it always is, for some reason he’s been getting these fainting spells none of them understands it other than Takumi himself, he just doesn’t want anyone to know about it. Because doing so will compromise his relatively common, and comfortable life.

Unfortunately, it’s already happening too much, when his parents heard Takumi fainted again they decided to bring him to a hospital, holding his hands a bit too close to his comfort, they moved away from the ever familiar home. Silently he knows that this will change his life forever… because after all, there’s something fundamentally so wrong about him.

There’s no way he can go back to how things were.

The door suddenly opens, and the stench immediately reaches his nose mustering his courage. Eito looks at the door, destroying his peace, dejectedly, but it’s not only his usual doctor, there’s someone else… Before his mind can wander more the doctor speaks, as grating as usual.

“This is— Takumi,, Sumino. You= tw0 will stay together’ from. Now on.”

A silent “huh?” escapes his mouth, isn’t it obvious? He’s not well with other people, Eito was sure everyone is well aware of that fact, that’s why he had a room of his own, so why-

“Yo.u 2 are….. similar,,, we need to;; learn more. About it.” The doctor explains.
“It /may/ help us,,, to Cure, you.” When he heard that, Eito lit up a little, because before this, they never sounded this confident… because this is their first case, one of a kind, in the whole world.

His gaze moves to the other person, it looks smaller… is it around his age? Before long, the other introduces itself.

“As you,,, already hear.d, I’m Takumi. Nice- to meet you?” It was rather short and simple, his hand doesn’t even try to reach out to him, in fact it’s the first time anyone ever does that, they don’t even meet each other’s eyes, as if neither of them wants this anyway.

“I’m Eito Aotsuki, it’s nice to meet you.” He introduced himself before the doctor could. Assuming what they tell him was correct, he probably did that so he doesn’t have to hear someone else talk, something he somewhat relates to… it’s grating to hear high pitched sound at all times.

“Now that you two are acquaintances, I will leave, I know minimal contact is best for the two of you. Oh, and please don’t get out of the room unless instructed otherwise.” The doctor says as he leaves and closes the door. Now he can smell the scent so clearly and strongly, fortunately it’s just the smell of apples, nothing too overwhelming.

Takumi finally looks at his new roommate, it looks like his peers at school, a little bit bigger than usual though, glasses in front of his ‘face’ and a really, really uncomfortable expression. Other than that…

He looks like anyone else, a pile of goo, with a white-blueish color this time.
