"So you're really not going to tell me, your own sister?"
Piper asked in a dramatic tone.
"No, I don't need you judging my relationship any more than you already are."
Came Lochlan's dry reply. Piper wanted to retort but knew this was a lost battle since, yes, she had been very judgmental about Lochlan relationship.
Apparently her brother has a sugar daddy. A rich guy, ten years older and married. How could she not be upset about something like that?
"Saxon know about this? You live together, he must know something."
Loch thought for a moment, seemed unsure of what to answer.
"He knows I'm dating someone who gives me lots of gifts, but doesn't ask questions. Don't open your mouth to him, Piper."
His voice was serious, Piper nodded.
"Don't worry, I won't say anything."
She wouldn't do anything to harm her brothers' relationship, especially now that they were so close again.
Piper never knew exactly what happened between them, except that when they returned from Thailand, Saxon threw himself into work and Loch moved to New York to study at NYU.
They tried to act normal in front of her and their mother, but the discomfort was palpable. She even tried to probe them separately, but neither would admit they are having problems.
Fortunately, three years later, Saxon had to travel to New York for work and the two reconnected so intensely that the oldest ended up accepting a job at a company in the city and the two are now living together.
Victoria cried when Saxon moved, but was also happy that her boys are bonding again. At the same time, her father got parole, so she wouldn't feel alone.
Things were going well for the family, Piper herself is happily engaged. She didn't want to start a drama now.
She wasn't even supposed to know about Lochlan's boyfriend. She only found out because she overheard his brother talking to a friend about the trip to Italy he was going next week.
"I'm so jealous, your sugar daddy really knows how to spoil you."
That was the friend's response that made Lochlan giggle, all happy.
Piper sighed in resignation. Even though she disapproved of this relationship, it was clear that this mysterious man made her brother very happy.
"I'm going to leave this quiet. I'll trust your judgment, but you have to promise to tell me if he hurts you in any way."
Loch smiled and hugged his sister.
"I promise, but don't worry, he's crazy about me."
Pippi rolled her eyes but didn't say anything. Tomorrow she would fly back home and she didn't want to end her visit on a negative note.
Back in North Carolina, her parents welcomed her excitedly and asked her several questions about the boys' lives. Piper ended up commenting on Lochlan's trip to Italy.
"Oh, is he going with Saxon too?"
Her mother asked
"Saxon ???"
Piper was not following.
"Yes," Victoria replied, "I talked to him last night, he told me he's going on a trip to Italy."
Her parents looked at each other and giggled
"He didn't want to answer but I think he finally found true love."
Piper felt her blood run cold, could it be...
No, it couldn't be, but it was better to keep quiet anyway.
Her wedding was coming up, she didn't need this kind of drama right now.
