Ron knows this, for fact, because he shares a dorm with him.
He talks to Hermione about it, only she doesn’t known what to do either, and then she calls him codepent, which really just pisses him off. He knew he isn’t being fair, because she cares about Harry too, and she’s concerned too, but sometimes Ron feels like they care about him in completely different ways.
Like, Hermione would be ok if Harry wasn’t. Hermione is ok when Harry isn’t. Because he isn’t, and Hermione has been fine, laughing with her dormmates and enjoying being back at Hogwarts.
But Ron… Ron doesn’t know how to be ok when Harry isn’t. It’s like he has tunnel vision, when it comes to Harry’s well-being. When Harry isn’t ok, it’s all Ron can think about. He just wants to make it better, and it’s killing him that he doesn’t know how to.OR
Divergence from fourth year, where Voldemort dies in the graveyard instead of Cedric. Harry isn’t doing well, and all Ron wants to do is help him.”
