Mumbo blinked a couple times, his hands rubbing against his eyes as the sleepy swirls in his eyes faded away.
“Grian? Wh– Are you okay? What happened?” Mumbo’s eyes narrowed as they laid on him, scanning him as if he were hiding something.
Grian looked up at Mumbo, vision slightly blurry as water clung to his eyelashes and began to speak, “It happened, Mumbo.”
The man’s eyes narrowed, “Wha— What happened? What’d you mean?”
"It happened- It- Mumbo-"
"What happened, Grian?"
“They declared war.”

(Fic is part of a series) war has finally broken out against dogwarts, Jimmy is a soldier in the war but grian doesn't know this until the first unit is sent out into a minefield trap and he thinks Jimmy is dead but he and Scott made it out and have just ran into cleo after almost running into the dogwarts soldiers as they were carting grian off. Pearl is known as the scarlet pearl, and I think she's a mercenary that has been given a job by ren to kill scar and his Knight (grian) and she has been traveling for a while trying to track her way to the monopoly mountain soldiers but she ran into gem who had gotten seperated from monopoly mountain army after a scuffle with some dogwarts soldiers. So pearl pretends to be on gems side so she can guide them back only for a little flirty water splashing to uncover the dried mud covering the dogwarts insignia on pearls uniform. Scar has just told mumbo that grian has been taken. Ren plans to most likely use grian as a bargaining chip against Scar. Time for prisoner if war arc. 6
