this one was written when i was sitting on the floor, listening to my parents talk to each other. i realized i loved hearing my family in the background while i did my own thing near them, and then this was born!

But I like listening
Voices
washing over my ears
I don’t know what they’re watching
But I’m watching too
Head
resting on their shoulder
I don’t know what they’re cooking
But it smells good
Spices
wafting into my nose
I don’t know what you’re doing
But I’ll join you
Doing things
is better with others.
