    Summary

It's 1982 and James (Jimmy) Wilson, 16, is home for the summer and lying about the reason: he's keeping an eye on his little brother Danny while their parents work late. Jimmy & Danny spend the days watching cartoons, riding bikes, playing the Atari & reading the National Geographic.

Gregory (Greg) House, 17, moves in to the house next door--right across from James. What's worse, their houses are so close together that their windows practically kiss. Through 'The Neighbor Window', Greg and James (going on to become House and Wilson) fall in love over records, mixtapes, Cartooncakes, lake trips, and joints.

A multi-decade canon compliant* longfic starring Danny Wilson, James Wilson, Gregory House, Blythe House, John House, Ruth Wilson, David Wilson, Joe Wilson, and Mouse the Cat.

    Summary

“So,” he said when there were barely two feet of space between them, peering up at him from under dark eyelashes and quirked brows. “Afghanistan or Iraq?”

His grip on his cane tightened. Alexander’s eyes flickered down to his tinted white knuckles before he resumed the maddening eye contact, a tiny smirk curling his lips, and God, he was infuriating.

“Afghanistan,” he responded in a low voice. “How did you-”

“Know you were a soldier? Please. Every breath you take screams military.” With that, he stepped around him, but didn’t bother to go too out of his way. Their arms bumped as he brushed past, and the scent of cold cigarette smoke and coffee hit him like a fist to the face.

John turned, unsure if this surreal interaction had finally found its end or not, to see that Alexander had paused in the doorway, eyes glinting.

“The address is 221b Bakerstreet. Seven PM. Don’t be late.”

Or, John Laurens, a soldier who retired from the military after being wounded in action, immigrates to England for a fresh start.

Through a chance encounter, he meets Alexander Hamilton, who is a bit insane and likes to hang around in morgues.

    They move in together, naturally.

    Summary

    "Everybody lies."
    – Dr. Greg House, every now and then

    ---
"Retirement home," Wilson deadpans when asked why they're moving to the middle of nowhere, as they take the keys from the previous owner.
House can't help but laugh. It's not like he can do much else these days.
    ---
"You okay?" It slips out one day before House can think.
Wilson is so thrown off he actually manages to suppress the cough just to glare at him. "Okay? Jesus Christ, House, what kind of question is that? Did the dust in this termite-infested shack clog your brain? Of course I'm–"
Another coughing fit cuts him off mid-rant.
    ---
"Is it time yet?" Wilson wonders. He can't lift his head to look at the clock.
House is tempted to lie, to say it's only half past six – hell, to say it's still yesterday. He desperately longs for more time. But he knows there's no one left to steal it from. They are alone at the end of the world.
He nods. "Three minutes to seven."
