Chapter Text
The battlefield is raging in front of you. You are standing on a cliff on an alien planet, far from Earth and Cybertron, with Optimus Prime beside you. The cliff is facing the canyon. You can hear the sounds of battle but you can’t see everyone, because the gorge is full of twists and turns that block sight lines.
Who knows what lies in this canyon?
“Bumblebee, I have a mission for you.” Optimus begins. “On the other side of this gorge is the autobot ship, Teletran I. I need you to take this cylinder to the ship, before the Deceptions reach it.”
He holds out a messenger cylinder, and you take it from him automatically.
“It is a matter of grave importance.” Optimus says, “Bumblebee, you are my best scout. I am counting on you. Do not let this cylinder fall into the wrong hands.”
If your voice box wasn’t muted, you would reply with something really cool right about now. Instead, you nod.
“Now, I must go.” Optimus says, rather dramatically. “I will find Megatron and engage him in battle. Hopefully, we will all be able to leave this strange planet in peace.”
He begins walking away, then turns to look at you one more time.
“Good luck, my friend.” He says.
As Optimus walks away, you look at the gorge. There appear to be three ways down: a simple path on the left that winds down the cliff, a more rugged path to the right, and-of course-you could always just go straight down the cliff in front of you.
Which path will you take?
