Summary
Defaulting to working in the military after you couldn't land a solid job in mechanical engineering, you had basically assumed your life would now consist solely of maintaining fighter jets and Humvees for the army.
It wasn't entirely the worst, but it did get repetitive after a while, especially when you had originally been shooting for an internship at Lockheed Martin (engineering ethics classes be damned). Your job paid well enough to keep you there however, albeit only with the occasional grumble of how you wished you'd taken a more exciting engineering gig instead.
Of course with the situation you've found yourself in now, you'd do just about anything to return to the safety of your humdrum day job.
