He rested his hand on Viktor’s shoulder, and felt the sensation of ice, cold and sharp, spreading up through his very bones. Deep and inextricably linked to himself, too far below the surface. Even if he felt like he was hardly doing enough, the small, relaxed breath that Viktor let out was a balm to his soul.

    “We lost ourselves,” Viktor said, “We lost our dream. In the pursuit of great, we… We failed to do good.”
