in jing yuan's neatly decorated home, the main color schemes were of brown, red, greens, and beige. all traditional luofu colors to appeal to luck and superstition and whatnot.
there was something that was missing, though.
something.. pink.
after another hard-working day of filing paperwork, taking a long lunch break, and being scolded on missing half the day by fu xuan, he came back to.. quite the surprise.
he remembered when you said you were expecting a big package, but he wasn't expecting the.. big things that were coming with it.
the front-door mat had been transformed from brown to pink.
the throw pillows went from green to pink.
the vase that held his careful maintenance bonsai went from white with intricately hand-painted clouds had turned pink, though still with patterned with darker-pink clouds.
even mimi, as she comes barrelling towards him, is adorned with pink bows surrounding her scruff. she jumps and he catches her, barely able to peek over her fluffy mane to see you, chasing after her with more pink bows.
"mimi!" you pant, before perking at seeing your husband. "a'yuan!"
he smiles, "hello, dear. what are you doing?"
"i'm giving our home a make-over!" you grin, holding up your bows. mimi whines and scrambles off jing yuan's hold to run further away from you. you frown and prepare to chase her, but jing yuan picks you up in return as you zoom past him.
"i think mimi's pink enough, hm?" he leans in and gives you a kiss on your cheek. you lean in, a giggle escaping your lips as your hands snake in his hair.
when he pulls back, another laugh slips past your lips. jing yuan's adorning the big pink bows you were planning to don on mimi. he sighs, taking one of the clips off and quickly slipping it on you.
"maybe we should have our portraits taken like this, hm?" he carries you over to the couch and sets you down. you sigh, laying your head on his shoulder. "maybe. i don't know if mimi will wanna."
he chuckles, "you can always just apologize with fish."
you nod, before straightening, almost hitting him in the head. "do you like my lipstick?"
"hm?" he looks over, a nice shade of pink on your lips. "i do."
you grin. "would you like some?"
the general has a specific schedule. it's usually near dusk when he comes out to water the half of his garden that are filled with nocturnal plants.
if the knights are lucky, they get to greet him, which earns them greetings in return.
today, the knights watch awkwardly as the general waters his pinkladies flowers covered in pink kiss marks.
