Chapter Text
With the people in despair with light of the immanent threat outside of their windows the Celestia sought for help from somebody they have heard of from various people. The exact location was deep inside the city, obscured from visibility of those who would not seek to find it's treasures.
Inside was a dominant fragrance of candle wax, rightfully so for there was left over wax where candles previously burned, presumably being something that is done many times throughout the day. It was suffocating for people who are more used to the pollution of the outside city.
Otherwise the place looked nice but strangely like an occult practising place with all the candles around. It was frustratingly distracting when every few feet there was a newly lit candle. Maybe an attempt at fighting off evils or..something.
Then there was the boy at the desk reading Crime and Punishment by Fyodor Dostoevsky. A symbolic detail for the kind of place Celestia had entered. It was a place of sorrow and tales which will never be told. It was a holding facility for abilities, powers, gifts and curses of people who have passed on and those who paid to be freed of the burden they carried.
The boy looked up at the group with an uninterested look, setting the book down and straightening his back to hear what they have to say.
“Hi! I'm uhh Minnie McAllister. We're here to see the caretaker.” Minnie's voice was unsure, having taken charge when nobody else wanted to speak up.
“Solana ain't seeing nobody today, come back another day miss.” The boy spat out, scowling at the group that was interrupting his moment of peace.
“Apollo! That is not how you speak to people, remember what I taught you, kind and composed.” Solana scolded the boy, reminding him of his manners. She then turned her attention to the people in front, paying attention to the emblem on Minnie's bag.
“Haaa..the McAllister family. Powerful in both abilities and wealth. What may I do for you?” The caretaker asked, hiding behind a mask of composure but she was wishing they could leave soon as they could. No matter what they said her answer would remain the same.
Celestia begun telling of the danger awaiting outside, making Solana aware of the lives which would be lost if they did not aid the group with what they sought. Though..it was a messy and jumbled explanation, filled with overlapping voices when they all tried telling them about it..at the same time. Luckily Solana was used to it, having raised a child by herself.
“So in short, there's a danger your oh shiny abilities can't defeat and you sought me out to aid you by entrusting you with the very thing I'm paid to keep safe?” A badly suppressed laugh escaped from Apollo, turning his face away to not burst out laughing at the groups boldness.
“I am deeply sorry but there's no help here for your kind....ability users, always so clumsy and self-absorbed.” Solana groaned, pinching the bridge of their nose. That was when Valeria stepped forward, playing with the ends of her hair awkwardly, this strange behaviour however caught the older woman's attention.
“Actualllyyy I'm an ordinary person.” The younger woman admitted, looking to the side sombrely, awaiting some mocking comment.
“How..fascinating...” These were the only words which escaped Solana's mouth involuntarily. They then cleared their throat after realising what she had just said.
“Very well then..Apollo please prepare the contract and I'll turn the lights on in the vault. Please come down to me once they've all written their names down.” Solana gave in promptly, turning her body around to head downstairs.
