The stars shined bright in the sky, glittering the otherwise dark sky. Bomby had climbed up the infamous 500 steps that sat within the grasslands, sitting on the edge as he stared down at the world below. Many contestants were asleep, those who weren't were at least unaware of Bomby watching up above. He bit into the sweetness of the banana within his hands, letting his mind wander through whatever thoughts it felt like having in the moment.
The first thing it went to was the challenge where they, in fact, had to climb the staircase. Black Hole did save his life, but also sucked up his banana, which was 10x worse, at least in his opinion. Maybe it was because he was so used to death? But the only reason Black Hole had to save his life...
Flower, to most, was just a jerk. Maybe a jerk who was trying to be better. Maybe just a jerk, and nothing more. Bomby couldn't say he was unfamiliar with those thoughts, back in BFDIA that's exactly what he thought. Back then, he simply thought Flower was a self-centered jerk, and he honestly hated her. But that hate shifted. He was unsure when, sometime after BFDIA for sure. But that hate shifted into something else. He stopped hating Flower, and he was unsure why.
Well, until he felt her hands in that challenge. Sure, in the situation, it wasn't good, she pushed him off to get to the top of the staircase. But he's competed before, he knows it's the nature of the competition. But her hands... it was something so much more... he wasn't exactly sure how to describe it, yet 100% sure at the same time. It was love, he was 100% sure of that, but he didn't know why. Why, when he had hated her for so long, did he start to love her?
He thought of an answer, an answer perfectly shown by two contestants within BFDIA. Not just BFDIA, but then IDFB, and now, BFB too. Coiny and Pin loved each other, but that love turned to hate as the game got to their head, only for them to love each other again. Love can turn to hate, and hate can just as easily turn to love.
Was it the fact he held such strong hate that was why it was able to foster love? But now he had to deal with so many more problems with the concept. He treated Flower pretty badly back in BFDIA. He even had made a firework just to state she was ugly back then. Maybe it was the fact that Flower was doing better and trying to be a better person. But, even then, that shouldn't be enough to stop him from hating her.
But then his mind wandered back to the first time he had come up here just to chill, late at night. It was the day after the challenge, and Flower had come up after him. The two of them had sat in silence, listening to music from Flower's phone. She was so nice, that night. They shared bananas, and it was nice. Quiet. Peaceful. The two of them sat in silence, until Flower had tapped him, and the two started chatting. They didn't sleep that night, just talking with one another.
Maybe that was how Bomby fell in love with Flower. But he didn't know how to approach confessing to her. Maybe he could ask his old bunch buddies, Coiny and Pin. Maybe they'd help. But it was too late to ask them right now. He'd have to ask them tomorrow. He knew the two of them were quite affectionate with one another. Would Flower be that way to him?
Maybe he'd never know. Maybe he'd be rejected. But, until then, until he'd find an answer to uncertainty, he'd imagine what it would be like.
