Ochako gulped as her mouth went dry and her face turned hot and red as black and yellow eyes looked down at her mischievously. The girls were sitting down together in the common room area and had been discussing the boys in their class and which of them they liked (Hagakure, Ojiro. Yaomomo, Todoroki. Jiro, Kaminari. Tsu, Tokoyami). When the conversation eventually came to her, Ochako politely declined to speak, that’s when Mina decided to get in her face and pull the truth out of her. She was clearly nervous, she always looked so freaking cute when she was nervous. She had it so bad for Midoriya and Mina knew it beyond a shadow of a doubt.
“Come on! Admit it! You like Midoriya!”
“N-n-no! Deku’s just my friend, my real crush is-!” Ochako covered her mouth as her face turned even redder.
“Your real crush?!” Mina gasped.
Ochako’s eyes went wide with horror. The shark was smelling blood now. She’d said too much. It was too late!
“Who is it? Is it a boy or a girl? Please tell me! Tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me tell me!!!!!!!!!!!!”
“Leave her be, Ashido,” Yaomomo chastised. “If Uraraka isn’t ready to talk about it, we shouldn’t pester her about it.”
“But we know it’s him! We all know she wants Deku’s-“
“It’s you!” Ochako yelped.
Now Mina’s eyes were going wide. “… What did you say?”
Ochako took a deep breath. “My crush. It’s you, Mina.”
Mina blinked then slowly collapsed into her chair. Did she just…?
“Ashido?” Yaomomo asked, looking just a little bit concerned.
“Mina? Yoohoo? Mina?” Hagakure called out, waving her sleeve in front of her best friend’s face.
Jiro let out a small chuckle. “I think you broke her, Uraraka.”
Ochako’s face turned red again. “I- I didn’t mean to do anything!”
Tsu rolled her eyes and shook her head before letting out a deep, disappointed groan. Her classmates really were the most ridiculous people in the world, God bless them. “Hang on, I think I have a solution.”
“What?” Toru asked before nearly jumping out of transparent skin as the frog girl smacked Mina across the face with her tongue.
“HEY!” The alien girl yelped in protest, her cheek stinging from the impact.
“Oh good! You’re back!” Toru breathed out, her shoulders slumping with relief.
“Back? Where did I go?”
“Uraraka said she had a crush on you and you just sort of bluescreened on us,” Toru explained.
“It was pretty funny too,” Jiro chuckled.
“Don’t say that!” Yaomomo protested.
Jiro looked at her best friend with an unimpressed expression.
“Oh alright! It was a little bit funny!” The heiress conceded, covering her mouth as she let out a small chuckle.
Mina blinked. “Uraraka said she likes… Me?”
Ochako nodded, still blushing. It just wasn’t gonna go away any time soon.
Mina rolled the idea over in her mind. She’d never really thought of Ochako like that before. At least she didn’t think she had? She liked girls as much as she liked guys, and man oh man, were there some serious babes in their class. Kirishima was always cute back in middle school, but he’d turned into a bonafide baddie since they’d gotten to UA. Todoroki was easily the most handsome boy she’d ever met. Yaomomo was a goddess and everyone knew it! Kendo from 1B was the definition of a knockout who can knock you out. And Ochako was… Oh my God she was perfect!
Yaomomo was gorgeous in almost an unobtainable way, she admired her beauty more than she actually found herself attracted to it. And while Kendo was a certified hottie, she still felt more like a big sister than someone Mina wanted to date. Ochako though, not only was she probably the kindest soul she’d ever met, but she was tough as nails! She’d given Bakugo a real run for his money during the Sports Festival and she’d even managed to restrain an actual serial killer during the villain attack at camp. And on top of all that, she was too freaking cute! And sexy! She had curves in all the right places. Mina had noticed Midoriya going gaga over her in the school uniform on the first day and then in her hero costume during their first day with All Might and Mina couldn’t blame him! She was gorgeous!
Wait. Was she noticing Midoriya drooling over her or was she herself drooling over her? Maybe both? None of this was making any freaking sense!
“Hold on, hold on, I thought you and Midoriya were a thing?”
“Deku is probably my best friend in the whole world but I’m gay,” Ochako explained.
… What?
“And for the record, we all wholly support you, Uraraka,” Momo piped in, gently putting a hand on Ochako’s.
“It’s not very heroic to just stop being friends with someone because they like girls instead of boys!” Hagakure cheerily declared.
Ochako smiled. It was probably the cutest freaking thing Mina had ever seen. “Oh don’t worry guys, I never thought you’d think less of me for being gay. I was never trying to hide it- Well, I guess I kind of was, but not because I was afraid of how all of you would react, just because I was a little embarrassed about, y’know, having a crush.”
“Neither one is anything to feel bad about,” Jiro dismissed.
“So does that mean you’re gonna tell Kaminari about your feelings then?” Tsu asked, giving the punk rocker an unimpressed look.
“No, but only because it’s fun to string him along. If I think the world is gonna blow up in the near future, then I’ll let him know that I’m interested.”
“Yeah, I’m not gonna wait that long,” Mina breathed out.
“Mina?” Hagakure asked, looking confused.
“Okay, Uraraka, you kind of surprised me there, I’m not gonna lie but thinking it over, I’d kind of like to give this a try,” the alien girl explained, her chicks turning lilac as she blushed nervously.
Ochako felt her heart soar. “You’re sure? I- I don’t want to make you feel any pressure. Just because I like you, doesn’t mean you have to like me. It’s okay if you don’t.”
“I… Think that I mistook me enjoying seeing you and Midoriya together for me just enjoying seeing you,” Mina explained.
“I’m not sure that makes sense…” Tsu murmured.
“Shhhhh! Don’t ruin the moment!” Hagakure whispered, the shipper was enjoying the show and did not need nor want any interruptions.
“Um, so… Do you… Wanna get some mochi after class tomorrow?” Ochako asked as she nervously fidgeted with her hands.
“There are no classes tomorrow honey, it’s Saturday,” Mina giggled. She really was the fucking cutest.
“Oh right. Um, so what time would you like to go?”
“We’ll leave around 11, Shinso mentioned a great cat cafe. Maybe we could eat there and have some tea?”
Ochako nodded, her face now redder than Kirishima’s hair.
“That sounds great!” She squeaked out. “Really great!”
