Work Text:
Mortal greeted Neptune respectfully from his perch high above. The plaintive cry of waterfowl no longer welcoming. Warning off. Once, long ago (in mortal reckoning), Draco had almost joined the amniotic hymn; yearned without knowing for the dash of the current. An end, abyssal.
The granite of his eyes met the topaz of hers as she fussed over the newest Malfoy tucked warmly against his chest, chalcedony eyes blinking drowsily. Perfect, tiny mouth opening and closing, seeking sustenance. Hermione unfastened the carrier, a liquid, practiced movement as their child began to wail.
A beginning, thalassic.
A promise.
