Damian is ranting, his anger is so fluidly violent that it emanates all over their living room. He's pissed.
“-would’ve just LISTENED to me then we wouldn’t be in this ridiculous mess! But no, don’t listen to Damian, don’t take in the fact that I know these idiots better than anyone after tracking them for a whole goddamn month!” rants Damian as he throws his hands in the air and twists on his toes to continue pacing only to stop just before he bumps into Raven. “Why are you even here? You agreed with them! Get out of my face!”
He goes to turn around again only for soft hands to trap his face in them, forcing his greens to meet purple.
“Damian,” starts Raven, but she stops when his lips curl into a snarl.
Her lips curve into a soft smile instead as she tilts her head to the side and just looks at him. His snarl starts to melt before he tugs it back, he’s still angry, he won’t let her cuteness convince him to stop.
“Should she be touching him?”
“Is that smart?”
“Oh god, baby bat’s gonna get himself in trouble.”
“Aw, she’s being sweet.”
Damian narrows his eyes at her, uncaring that his heart is fluttering from her touch as usual because he’s too pissed to deal with the soft emotions raging through him. But then she just leans in and brushes a gentle kiss to his forehead. She lets her nose brush down his until she can knock them together in a gentle kiss before she pulls back and smiles even softer than before.
Silence washes over them, and Damian feels every ounce of anger leave him on a deep exhale. He melts into her embrace, hands finding her waist as he knocks their foreheads together gently.
“I’m sorry, Rae, I didn’t mean to lash out like that,” murmurs Damian quietly, guilt lacing his words alongside embarrassment. “You shouldn’t have had to deal with that.”
“Hey, I hear you. I know how hard you’ve worked to track those jerks down, which is why I put Tim and Jason onto the end of your trail and made them actually sit and go through everything you’ve put into the system. They want to talk to you,” replies Raven with an understanding tone that makes him melt further because of course she did what he needed someone to do.
She’s always doing what he needs, even when he doesn’t know what he needs.
“What did I do to deserve someone as amazing as you, beloved?” asks Damian quietly as he pulls her into him, firmly wrapping his arms around her in a hug. “Thank you, for all of this.”
“You were you and that’s all you needed. Besides, you know I’ll be asking you that question the next time I lose control, and you ground me as usual. But you should talk to your brothers before they come here instead,” says Raven softly as she hugs him around the neck, humming happily into him.
“You’re absolute perfection, beloved,” whispers Damian as he pulls away before brushing a quick kiss to her lips. “I’ll find you once I'm done dealing with those two.”
“I’ll be in my room, just let me know if I can come to yours, okay?” says Raven as she smiles at him, hands falling to her sides as he moves to leave.
“When, not if, beloved!” calls Damian over his shoulder before disappearing from the room.
The last thing he hears is, “The next time you try to take on his case without consulting with him, I’ll trap you in your own personal hell until you’re too traumatized to even be a vigilante, let your idiot father know that it goes for him too.”
He grins as he heads to his room for the call, beyond ready to finish this so he can cuddle his beloved for the rest of the night.
