Chapter Text
Jimin walked up the stairs towards his budget apartment, brown coffee splotches scattered across his white dress shirt and a frown upon his face.
It hadn’t been his dream home but upon further inspection it had everything he needed in order to make it his dream home. Everything was easy to achieve when he had his one special person.
The blonde placed his head on the door as he slipped his keys into the keyhole, twisting it to hear the clicking sound implying the door was unlocked and ready to open up into his favorite scene.
As the door creaked open, there on the floor was a neat mop of black hair belonging to one Min Yoongi. He was laying down, softly giggling as he played with his new recently adopted puppy. A pouty baby speaking to another more energetic baby. Jimin adored coming home to this everyday.
His eyes took in the warm colors of the light as he walked in and closed the door behind him, “Welcome home Jiminie,” Yoongi spoke softly followed by a tiny bark, “How was work?” Yoongi's lips formed a gummy smile in his direction and all Jimin could do was melt onto the floor. His body went boneless both from the smile and from being extremely tired.
“Hey Yoongi hyung, hey Holly,” he sighed and laid on the tan carpet next to Yoongi, “New coworker doesn’t know how to use a coffee machine...he dropped three mugs and gave two people wrong orders,” He closed his eyes and raised his hand up to the ceiling, “Is it so hard to write down what people say they want so you don’t mix it up?” His arm went limp right after speaking, a harsh huff escaping with it.
Yoongi laughed. A sound that was so normal, always becomes extraordinary. It makes Jimin's stomach erupt with butterflies at the mere thought of the face behind the sound, a smile creeping up on his lips because he just knows it’s genuine. Jimin knows it’s genuine.
“You’re so cute hyung” Jimin tiredly opened his eyes and spared a loving glance towards Yoongi. His eyes sparked. It was no secret that Jimin liked Yoongi. Much more than anyone could say about their roommate of three years.
Yoongi lazily stood up and sighed while shaking his head. He walked towards the kitchen which was right next to the louge room and replied, “I don’t think so, I checked in the mirror this morning and I’m still ugly,” Jimin could hear the distant laugh while Holly bounced up to lick his face.
It was always like this. Jimin would compliment or even sometimes right out tell Yoongi he would be a wonderful boyfriend while Yoongi denied everything. He's been friendzoned so many times he lost count after 26. Or maybe it was 30 but who's counting.
Jimin sighed and sat up with a small frown on his pink lips. “You hungry Jiminie?” Yoongi's voice was soft along with a shuffling in the kitchen. “It’s movie night.” Jimin could hear the smile on his face as he said those words with a little melody in his gentle voice.
“Yeah, I could eat,” Jimin stood up and walked into their small kitchen to meet Yoongi leaning on the counter, scrolling through his phone. He would never be able to explain how wonderful the flutter of his heart felt when he looked at the sparkling boy. The only boy he’d ever wanted to kiss and tell this badly. Scream it from the rooftops. There he was, doing the bare minimum while cooing at the little dog jumping around at their feet.
“I’ll…I’ll set up the movie!” The realization of a sad truth overtook his mind then. The other man would never look at him the same way he does. He was sure of it.
“I’ll order then! And I won't forget the cinnamon sticks again!”

Like every Friday night, Jimin and Yoongi sat on the floor of their living room. They rotated around playing video games and watching movies. Jimin loved being able to spend time with Yoongi after a long day of both draining college courses and work.
They were both tipsy at this point, the wine bottle placed between them as they smashed the buttons of their controllers trying to surpass the other in the game they were competitively playing.
“Jimin-ah no! Don't do that!! Oh my-” Yoongi cut himself off and let out a big sigh of defeat. Jimin had won yet again.
“I told you hyung. Just because I’ve had some wine does not mean that I can casually let you win against me!”
Yoongi grunted and threw the controller to his side before leaning back to rest his back. He rolled his head back and closed his eyes. The alcohol was hitting him sooner than expected.
Jimin bit his lip before turning back to look at Yoongi. Maybe if he tried once more it could work.
Before Jimin could open his mouth to speak, Yoongi leaned over to grab a slice of pizza from the box. He held it up in one hand and pouted at Jimin. “Open wide!” Yoongi elongated the last word as he tried to give the slice to Jimin. The blushing boy then opened his mouth to bite on the pizza that Yoongi was feeding him.
A prideful smile formed on the older’s face. Jimin swallowed the food he was chewing before looking at Yoongi the flush in his cheeks remaining persistent, “Hyung...you know...I heard our signs are a perfect match,”
Yoongi smirked and chuckled softly while looking down at the pizza still in his hand with two bites from the younger, “But Jiminie...I remember mine being ‘no’...” He lifted it up and ate the remainder of the pizza. Jimin’s mind was totally not screaming ‘indirect kiss’ as he watched just now.
Jimin knew Yoongi couldn't feel how much it hurt being shot down in the instances he tried to flirt. But it still felt cruel. Did Yoongi know?
Jimin took the bottle and took another big gulp of the bitter liquid. At least he liked it. Jimin then mimicked the others' earlier actions. He propped himself up on the bottom of the couch right next to Yoongi.
“I also remember your birth flower Jimin-ah….It’s very pretty…” Yoongi smiled and turned to look at Jimin who was already staring intently at the elder. Jimin stayed quiet, their breath being the only sound they could hear.
“But you’re the prettiest flower I’ve ever seen,” Jimin’s heart was beating at an ungodly rate. It was moments like these where he could pretend they were together. Imagining that they would be going to a shared room and bed to cuddle up and sleep instead of their own separate rooms to slip into cold sheets.
