    Biting the bullet and finally attempting an AU inspired by Preacher’s Daughter. I’ve never written anything this far out of canon so it could go wrong, but let’s see for now.

    Set in the late 90s. No smartphones. Mac escapes his abusive family and runs away. He meets Dennis in a bar.

    Things to remember:

    Mac is 22; Season One (think specifically Gun Fever or Charlie Got Molested)
    Dennis is 36; Season Eleven (think specifically Chardee Macdennis 2 or Charlie Catches A Leprechaun)
    Luther has returned from prison and is now a pastor. He is abusive.
    Dennis won’t appear for the first couple of chapters.
    Silas is a boy Mac is sneaking around with. Original character but not very important it’s just for plot; he doesn’t return after Mac leaves
