Work Text:
Leo loved Jason.
Now he’s all gone, and he’s not coming back.
“Can’t you come back?” Leo muttered under his voice. He was driving home. It was a bad day. One of those days when Leo missed Jason the most. When he missed his smile, presence and even those stupid glasses. He needed to escape. He needed to live with Jason. He needed Jason to be alive again.
He thought about the days he spent with the boy. Jason bleaching his teeth, always flashing his smile at Leo that made his day because he brightened up rooms with his grin alone. He also thought about the trash he would talk under his breath. About his absent father, that he still loved when he was only present once or twice in his whole life.
His whole life that was cut short. It should’ve been way longer. Why did he have to die?
Leo parked his car and climbed out. He locked it and unlocked his front door. Once he got in he locked the door behind him. Yes, a lot of unlocking and locking.
Unlocking of his medicine cabinet.
The pop of a tub of pills.
Leo’s breath staggered. He started hyperventilating. Tears fell silently down his cheeks and he closed his eyes. He pictured Jason in his mind. A boy with glasses, messy blond hair, that was unbelievably handsome. A boy with a pure and kind heart. A boy whom Leo loved - had loved. But he still loved him.
How do you survive without seeing the love of your life for years? Honestly, Leo didn’t know. He didn’t know how he dealt with it, but right now he couldn’t deal with it. He was drowning. He felt far away from his own body as he poured half of the bottle into his hand. His soul felt disconnected from his body.
Then threw it in his mouth. The pills slid down his oesophagus. There was nothing else he could do. There is nothing else he can do. His fate was sealed. He could finally join Jason, but why couldn’t he join him?
“Can’t you come back?” Leo choked out.
He pulled his phone out of his pocket. He had to say something to someone. But who? Piper, his best friend. His mother. His therapist?
Oh gods, he realised what a mistake he had made. His whole body started shaking and his phone slipped out of his grip that got weaker. His knees gave way and he crashed to the floor. He unlocked his phone and tried to say something. All he could think was ‘sorry’. So he shakily typed it out on his chat with Piper.
It came out like:
Leo🦁
sorryyyh
Pipes💕

Then Piper called Leo.
But he was already asleep.
Dreaming about Jason.
Forever.
“Can’t you come back?” Piper cried out when she found Leo sleeping on his floor.
