Notes:

Inspired by Thangyu edits on Tiktok and the Lana Del Rey song "Religion"

"It never was about the money or the drugs,
For you there's only love,
For you there's only love,
It never was about the parties or the clubs,
For you there's only love,
For you there's only love."

Chapter One

Namgyu

Namgyu opens his eyes to a hazy flurry of chaos - distressed people all dressed in green shouting at creepy masked guards in pink jumpsuits. He sat up, rubbing his eyes. He was in a big hall with hundreds of bunk beds, and people waking up disoriented, just like him. He looked down at himself and realised he was also wearing one of those green tracksuits - a rectangle on his chest read "124" and he realised that must be his player number.

What was going on? Where was he? How did he get here? Who are all these people and why are the guards holding guns?

He rose from his bunk and descended the steps down to the floor, and thoughts and confusion began to spiral in his head. The harsh lighting was hurting his head and he didn't remember getting here and he was overwhelmed and dizzy and everyone was so loud, and then- Then...

Then Namgyu saw him through the crowd and everything else faded away. His soft purple hair and his cute dimples and his colourful nails, his strong, steady stride, the way confidence seemed to ooze out of him, his enigmatic, magnetic appeal. Player 230. He knew he'd seen him before. This was the guy from the club Namgyu worked at - the cute guy he'd always give free drinks because he wanted so badly that he would like him, notice him the same way Namgyu noticed Thanos. Namgyu knew his name - he knew everything about him. Famous rapper, bad boy, lived at 33 Sunset Avenue - but of course nobody could know he knew that. He had even made him into a C.ai bot and wrote letters to him in his journal, embarrassingly.

But Thanos obviously didn't recognise him. He was too cool and handsome for a guy like Namgyu. He was creative and assertive and dreamy-

"Hey! Hey, Namsu, right? My man! From da clerb!" A voice said, interrupting Namgyus thoughts.

Wait...did Thanos just speak? To him? OH MY GOD. HOLY SHIT. What does he do? What happens if he smells? Did he even remember deodorant this morning? Namgyu almost faints.

Thanos

As soon as Thanos saw him, he couldn't believe his fate. The cute waiter boy from the club who gave him free drinks and would bring him drugs was here. He couldn't believe it. He always hoped that small, slight, obedient boy and him could hang, but he was always with his boys and they could never get moments alone. He wanted to touch his freckles and put his fingers through his hair, and many a time that dude had been the main feature in his gooning fantasies. When Thanos see him standing there in the crowd, looking so lost and alone, he just knew he had to protect him.

"H-hi..." He stumbled back, looking round nervously, biting his bottom lip. He sees Thanos looking and blushes.

"Are you ok my brotha? You seem a little pale" Thanos reaches out his hand and places it on Namgyus shoulder and Namgyu gasps.

Thanos could feel the warm, soft skin of his neck beneath his fingers and had an urge to stroke it tenderly, looking into the deep doe eyes of this sweet boy, but he pulled his hand away and fingered his silver cross necklace instead. The necklace was actually a tin which contained real good drugs that Thanos would use if he had to. He was about to ask Namgyu more questions, when a sound came over some speakers to them.       A pleasant women's voice said "Attention players, the first game is about to begin."
