Chapter Text
The first time Maddy kissed Rhydian on the cheek, it was Tuesday morning, right before Biology. A light pop of a kiss, soft and fleeting — so quick it almost didn’t happen at all.
But it did.
And Tom saw it.
He blinked, once, twice, as if his brain needed help processing the image.
"Did she just—?" he began, but Shannon cut him off with a whisper.
"Yup. Full-on cheek kiss. No explanation. Just... kissed him."
Rhydian stood frozen in the hallway like someone had unplugged him. Maddy, meanwhile, smiled like she'd just tied her shoes — casual, unbothered, completely Maddy.
And then she walked away like it hadn’t just broken the laws of friendship. Or whatever rules they were all following.
