“What?” Charlie asks when he sees Nick’s smile.

They lay together in comfortable silence under the soft fairy lights, a Taylor Swift song gently playing from their bedroom speaker. Nick has his head on Charlie’s chest, his ear pressed against his heart. He feels Charlie’s delicate touch stroke his back in alluring lines and he can’t help his smile. This. This is where he wants to be for the rest of his life.
“What?” Charlie asks when he sees Nick’s smile.
Nick looks up at him and simply says. “I just can’t believe I get to spend the rest of my life with you as my best friend.”
