“Listen, I don't believe things that I can't see!” Bek insists whilst El slams her pickaxe against a spot of coal, the loud clangs echoing across the vast cave.
With a hefty sigh and a roll of her eyes, she pauses and turns around to face the hunter, wiping dust off her face with the back of her hand, “It's round, Bek. The Earth is a sphere.”
“But when I’m walking around, the ground is flat! It ain't–”
Rather impulsively, and growing bored of this argument, El takes a swift step forwards and leans up, briefly pressing her lips against Bek's, who lets out a startled yelp.
“We'll find you a book, don't worry,” El says softly after pulling away and lightly booping her nose.
Bek stands completely frozen in bewilderment, blinking hard like someone who's only just woken up, “I– Uh– Oh, okay! …Sure?”
El can't help but giggle at the state she's left her in, quite proud of herself, “What're you, a deer caught in the jacklight?” she teases before motioning with one hand, “Come on, we're done digging. Let's get outta here.”
