There's a moment as the two of them catch their breath in shock, suspended in time with adrenaline pumping through WD's veins at the near-disaster they just avoided. Her arms are cradled around Ripley's torso, holding her almost like she'd simply dipped her down while they were dancing rather than stopping Ripley from smashing ass-first into solid stone. She's so caught up in making sure Ripley's okay that it takes her a few seconds to look back up at her face, only to find Ripley staring at her with wide eyes and slight tinge to her cheeks.
WD feels her face grow warm.
"Uh. . ." she coughs awkwardly, pulling Ripley back up to stand while avoiding her gaze. "Glad I, uh, caught you before you. . . fell, I guess."
Ripley snickers.
"My sincerest gratitude, oh knight in shining armor," she says, and WD can't help the slight satisfaction in her chest at being called a knight. It reminds her of their first kiss and the way Ripley smiles at her makes her think they're both remembering the same thing. "Very romantic of you."
