Chapter Text
A canceled gig was one of Lucio's nightmares but sadly, nothing could be done, the sky was black with rain clouds and the open ceiling venue had decided to cancel. It was understandable, understandable didn't mean less painfull for him. He had told me to stay in the hotel room, from the window I could see him and the rest of the band hugging fans and taking pictures, everyone else was starting to go back to their respective hotel rooms and pack for the next city on the tour, but Lucio stayed, one more picture, one more hug, one more fan he needed to apologize to. Word had spred and people kept turning up to talk to him, I realized this wasn't going to end soon and started packing for him.
Having to put away his unoppened makeup, his clean stage clothes... it was sad, and it made me think of a day when they'll have to be put away forever, Lucio always talked about his dream of a tour that would never end but lately he looked tired, thiner, he'll have to take a break or this lifestyle he loves so much might be the end of him.
He opened the door as I closed the suit case, he looked like he'd been crying and smelled even more like cigarretes than usual.
"You should take a shower, dear."
"Can't. Stanco"
He said as he left himself fall on the bed, face first. I rubbed his back, tried to help him relax, he left out a sigh and said:
"I should have checked the weather"
"Are you really blaming yourself for the rain?"
"It was obvious that it was going to rain, people knew for weeks. I should have known, I should have checked. I should have been prepared..."
"What about the venue? They're the ones who had no back up plan in case of rain. Don't you think they should be used to checking the weather before booking an artist?"
He rolled around so he could see me, his eyes where red. I kissed his forehead.
"You're human, congrats. Your fans finally know that there's one thing Lucio Corsi can't do, and it's control the weather"
He chuckled.
"I just don't want something like this to happen again. I don't want to disapoint them. Some traveled from far away just for the show..."
"I know, I know" I grabbed one of his cheeks with one hand and went to pet his hair with the other. "But they know it's not your fault. Hey, I bet some of them are beting themselfs up for not checking the weather just as much as you are."
He kissed me, a small and soft kiss that said thank you, he held me for a while and I could feel his heart beat getting calmer.
"Maybe I will take that shower"
"Do, you'll feel better after"
"Wanna join me?" He offered with a cheeky smile. "That would for sure make me feel better."
At least he's laughing now.
