I think there's been a misunderstanding?

Chapter 1: Prologue

Chapter Text

*ERRRRR ERRRR ERRRR*

*WACK*

Zoey groaned and rolled over in bed, grabbing the nearest pillow in sight and snuggling it between her legs, and wrapped it tight in her arms.

"Five more minutes," she told herself. She's really gotta turn her alarms off now that Huntrix is on hiatus. Five more minutes. Sure

*ERRRRR ERRRR ERRRR*

"UGHHHHH"

*ERRRRR ERRRR ERRRR*

"ZOEY GET UP!!"

Mira's voice rang through the halls, along with the opening and closing of doors.

It wasn't 5 minutes... In reality, it was like.. 35.

"COME ON ZO WE LEAVE IN AN HOUR!"

Zoey shot straight up. She remembered why she hadn't turned off her alarms. They had scheduled a week-long spa retreat to celebrate the idol awards (and working non-stop). Rumi was already ready, wearing her hair in her usual calf-length braid, slung over her shoulder. She was sitting in the girls' living room, going over their itinerary just "one more time."

"I wonder if we can fit a hike in somewhere."

"No hikes, no form of exercise at all. The only form of exercise I'm getting is catching them z's."

Mira was Second to walk out, and instead of her signature half-up, half-down pigtails, she rocked two pink, loose space buns.

"Yeah, Rumi, we do like a week's worth of time in the gym all in one day, eeeeevery day. We deserve a break. You deserve a break girl." Zoey groaned.

Zoey was the last to walk out in loose pigtail braids. She was smart to pack the night before; she knew she wouldn't wake up early enough.

"You're free to hike rumi," Mira added. "But we can't," Zoey finished with an exasperated sigh.

All the girls were in their most casual attire, sweats, gym shorts, hoodies, you name it, the girls were probably wearing it.

"All ready?" Rumi said, eyes still locked on the itinerary on her phone.

"Mhm"

"Yup!!"

Mira raised an eyebrow, and Rumi finally looked up to Zoey's little too eager "Yup!!"

"Are you sure?" Rumi asked.

"Yep!"

Mira chimed in, "Toothbrush?"

"Mhm."

Rumi took a turn-"Hair-care?"

"Yes, and if I forgot mine, I would use yours anyway," Zoey shot back with a wink.

The girls took turns quizzing Zoey on various things she's forgotten on the past tour, until Rumi mentioned a phone charger, and Mira was the one who yelled "WAIT" and rushed in and back out of her room.

The girls lugged their suitcase each to the elevator, through the back of the lobby, to two muscle cars hiding behind their building. One car for them(plus Bobby), one for the staff. The girls were getting settled in when someone's phone rang. "Hi Bobby!!!"

"Hi girls!!! Unfortunately, I don't think I can make this trip, there's a lot going on here at the company, and- HEYHEYHEY MY GIRLS WOULD NEVER SAY THAT- and anyway, back to what I was saying." The girls flashed confused looks between each other. "I won't be able to show you girls my favorite amenities." Bobby sighed, "I'm sorry, girls, but don't worry, I'll be at the airport to see you off.

Bobby originally planned this for the girls for their first "hiatus," and they initially declined it, just wanting to enjoy their time together at home, which was understandable, and, instead of letting the money go to waste, they gave the vacation to Bobby. He deserved it anyway. Bobby's worked so hard for them, and during the tour, coupled with the fact that he's nothing short of a father to the girls. But after the nightmare that was the idol awards this year, yeeesh. Between the saja boys having technical difficulties and just not showing up, the girls missing their cue during golden, and a stage light almost falling on Rumi. Not to mention cutting the girls' (and Bobby's) first hiatus short by announcing golden. The girls figured they needed a break; they needed one BAD.

---

So there the girls were standing outside Icheon National Airport, covered head to toe in sunglasses and masks, trying to look the most inconspicuous they could possibly be. Bobby briefed them on the resort. Of course, they didn't really need the briefing (Rumi spent the whole night before researching), but Bobby had spent a whole seventeen hours (before coming back for the golden promo), so he just HAD to tell them how it was.

"OOOOOO girls, you're going to LOVE the hot springs. All-inclusive amenities, so you don't have to worry about racking up the room service bill. Plus, the view is to DIEEEE for." Bobby said, waving his hands in the air. "OH! It's almost time to check in. I packed you all extra snacks. And remember, I'm so proud of you girls. You three deserve the world, and this vacation." He cheered. "Bye girls!!"

"BYE BOBBYYY," they cried. Like, fully blown Niagara Falls bawling. "WE LOVE YOU BOBBY WERE GONNA MISS YOUHUHUHUU" They cried so hard in fact, they hadn't noticed their staff had gotten them all the way through luggage check, KAC, and through the gate onto the plane.

The flight from Seoul to Jeju Island was only 2 hours, so the girls could steal a quick nap before stealing a much longer one in the resort where they land. The girls had decided to fly domestically instead of their private jet, hoping it would deter saseng and the media, which at first sounds a little counterintuitive, but 3 girls dressed like everyone else, surrounded by their staff that was dressed as equally unsuspecting, seemed to work in the past. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. - Rumi decided to use her 2 hours for some light reading, Mira took a nap, and Zoey, despite what she's been told, checked her socials. Each girl's social has a dedicated manager, much to the girls' protest. What their company doesn't know is that they have each had secret accounts posing as very dedicated fans. Rumi uses hers the least; she likes to keep her peace. Mira and Zoey, on the other hand... Mira almost got caught once, and her account has been banned time and time again for getting into heated arguments online. Zoey, on the other hand. Although she doesn't interact in the same way Mira does, her screen time is twice as worse. She developed a bad habit of scouring gossip boards about every current popular idol group. Especially hers.
