Work Text:
OK break from my normal plot of this, I just wanted to do a funny dynamic drawing, so here you go(btw, they're not supposed to be hollow heads in this universe, I just wanted to draw that way):
So yes, short story for the context:
The last thing Second was expecting to see when he came out from his bedroom was to see a giant fire blooming right outside, and Dark seemingly panicking around it. Second’s first thought was: did he do this? Dark did have fire powers, and he was destructive and would not hesitate to use it, sometimes even out of his own control.
Second hurried next to his brother just as the fire impossibly grew larger despite water getting thrown on it.
“What’s happening?!” Second had to raise his voice higher than usual for his brother to even hear a word he was saying.
“It’s burning!”
“Yeah, I can tell that. How did this fire appear?”
“I don’t know. I came out and it was already here. Hey Sec, now that you’re here, go get an adult.”
Second raised an eyebrow at that. He may not be the closest to Dark, but if he was doing his math right and if his memory was correct, wasn’t Dark over eighteen now?
“Aren’t you an adult?”
Dark gave Second a soured look. “Yeah, but I don’t know how to handle this!” he pointed at the rapidly bigger fire. “We need an adultier adult! Go get Chosen.”
Not without annoyance, Second went back up the stairs and knocked on his other brother’s door. Luckily, Chosen opened his door this time(unlike the many other times he didn’t), and he looked at Second with confusion.
“It’s so early in the morning.” (It was not. It’s about 9:00 by now, Chosen just wakes up late, though since the entire household doesn’t wake up early either, 9:00 was an early enough time by their standards. Second really only woke up because of the smoke, not because he had enough sleep(even though he slept 9 hours by now)) “What’s wrong?”
“There’s a fire downstairs.” Chosen didn’t even seem surprised at that, and he followed Second downstairs.
When Chosen saw the fire, Second watched as his brother’s expression went from tired and somewhat bored into one of faint amusement.
“You can stop trying to extinguish it now, Dark.”
The second youngest brother begrudgingly moved back, a doubtful look on his face. “Are you just going to let it stay there then-”
His words were cut short when suddenly the fire extinguished, all the burn marks it had created vanishing with it.
“What-?”
Seeing Second and Dark’s shocked expressions, Chosen couldn’t help but chuckle to himself.
“How did you do that?” Second asked curiously, his emerald eyes fixed on his older brother.
“Just ask Vic later” is all Chosen said before leaving with a smile as his brothers exchanged confused looks.
