Work Text:

Bakugou’s eyes opened wide. He was standing around at some kind of party. He could vaguely make out the figures of his friends and former classmates amidst the blue lights and music. The tunes were weirdly quiet, but everyone else seemed to act like it was blasting. The blonde took a few steps looking around. Everything was slightly blurry as well. Upon seeing himself in a glass, he was dressed in some all-black streetwear. The top consisted of a black leather jacket, dark orange V neck and void black pants. There was an annoying white rose embroidered on the sleeve of his jacket. He couldn’t remember what the hell this party was even for. Or why he wasn’t freaking the fuck out as much as he should have been.

A light hand tapped on Bakugou's shoulder. It was the first feeling he’s had that was completely crisp. That hand belonged to his multi-year crush and rival: Uraraka Ochako. She was in some off-the-shoulder navy top and tight pink skirt. “Sorry, the girls pulled me away. You said you wanted to talk?”

Why did this feel so natural? Why weren’t his immediate thoughts coming to the front of his mind? Bakugou’s instincts were to snap or be confused loudly. In a way, he felt like he was watching his body talk for him. Against his instincts, he glanced at the dance floor then held his hand out to her. “Let’s dance.”

For a split second, Bakugou was grateful he didn’t have to fully think while dancing with her. He wasn’t terrible like Deku and he wasn’t a breakdancer like Mina. But it was embarrassing to some degree because of how silly it felt. He could watch her dance all night though. Ochako made those curves work in her favor. It was a miracle he didn’t start drooling when she backed her hips into him. He could never pass up the opportunity to have his hands on her hips.

Uraraka’s movements slowed to reach behind her. Her hand guided his chin to her ear. “What did you want to talk about?”

There was a familiar yet new feeling that took over Katsuki’s mind when she asked. He still could barely hear the music or murmurs. The feeling of her pressed against him and breath across his face where the only real sensations available. “You. Because you ruined me.”

“Ruined you?” She gave her hips a little shake before turning to face him. They backed up by a step to give space for more dancing. Ochako didn’t seem phased at all by his phrasing. “How did I do that? I didn’t do anything wrong.”

“Yeah, that’s the main fucking issue.” Bakugou twirled her around. “All that extra time I could have been focusing on my rankings or training got blown away because of you. Because you wanted to train with me. You wanted to spend time at the amusement parks and going to cafes and shit. You ruined me because you got too fucking close to me. Now I’m all fucked up.”

“Sounds like you tortured yourself by letting me get that close.” On the next spin, Ochako wrapped herself in his arms. Katuski could swear his heart would break his ribs with all that thumping. “You didn’t have to. You could have pushed me away. The reason why you always stick around…Is it because…you like me?”

Bakugou dropped his head to take a deep breath in her lovely brunette locks. She smelled like vanilla and he still couldn’t figure out what the fuck was going on or why this felt so easy. “Yes I like you. I’m so fucking in love with you that it hurts. And that’s the issue. All the extra focus I could be putting into my goals n’ shit I’m wasting by being in love with you. Thinking about you, wanting to kiss you, screw you, take you out. God forbid I’m actually in a room with you and there’s nothing on my brain but how I want you with me.”

Ochako was also surprisingly calm. Maybe it was none of his business how she learned how to navigate complex emotions like this Or why she wasn’t put off by his abrasive descriptions of his feelings. He’d also like to know why the fuck he just confessed to her and how was he not freaking out?! Bakugou was practically screaming for his sense to come back from where he lost it. Soft fingers on either side of his cheek brought Bakugou back into that dreamlike haze.

Pink lip gloss looked so good on her. Her voice practically pierced his soul. “Is it a waste if you like how it feels? I don’t think being in love is a waste at all, Katsuki.” Her smile could light up this dark room, easy.

Deep down, he didn’t think being in love was a waste. His annoying desire for it is what kept him in the palm of her hands. He loved everything about her. There were few things that made him feel as amazing as a hero but Uraraka was one of them. With her words and actions, Bakugou realized he only felt his best when they were together. He wanted that feeling to last forever.

As true as that was, it still annoyed him at how far he had strayed from his one-track mind. “You’re my worst enemy. No matter how many villains we go against, I keep losing my heart to you like this. It’s ridiculous.”

Uraraka could have convinced him to do anything with her lips this close to him. “Your heart is mine, Katsuki. I’ll never give it back, even if it makes us enemies for life.”

Bakugou for a second wished he could disappear after hearing that. The distance between them completely closed, and that was all awash. He couldn’t have imagined her plump lips feeling this soft. She didn’t just press against him, but she repeated the motion over and over. Eventually, Katsuki caught on and returned her sweet affections. The way her bottom lip brushed against his top lip made it feel like they were puzzle pieces fitting together. Bakugou satiated his urge to bite into her.

Ochako took that as an invitation to guide his mouth open for her. Her tongue sweetly lapped over his like he was ice cream. The warmth of her breath sent a chill down his spine. He never wanted to forget this view. The blurry, dark, and colorful club with familiar unseen faces dancing. The too quiet music and drinks added to the atmosphere. It was the perfect scenery to make licking his enemies' mouth more incredible. Uraraka burned herself in his mind and heart with ease. The idea of being in love instead of being a hero still felt ridiculous and stupid. However, Uraraka’s plush lips and slick tongue convinced him to heavily reconsider.

The two finally backed off to take a deep breath. How was he supposed to know she’d look this sexy while flushed and out of breath? “Yeah. You got me. I’m ruined.”
--

Bakugou jolted awake in his hospital bed. He looked around the room to see a chart with his injuries on it. He cringed and put the clipboard back, not wanting to think about how beat up he was. That looked rough. This felt more familiar. The sounds, scenery, colors and everything. Everything was clear and distinct. This was reality. Although there was an unfamiliar pink bag in a chair.

“Bakugou!”

The brunette slammed his hospital door open and rushed to his side. She moved the bag to the side and took a seat. Uraraka took one of his hands in hers. That smile could still light up any void. “Thank goodness! You were out for so long, I was getting so worried. I only stepped out for a minute but you’re awake!

“Yeah…What happened?”

Uraraka gave him the rerun of their most recent mission and it came back to him. They were set up to capture two villains two days ago. There was some kind of large scale drug trafficking taking place. Uraraka, Bakugou, and a small team were sent to stop it. The two head villains included someone who had a quirk to force people to lose consciousness by trapping them in an illusion. Bakugou stupidly misjudged and that asshole touched him. He had taken too much damage during the battle to withstand it at that point.

It was good to hear that the villains did get apprehended even at the expense of himself. Remembering the illusionist got him explained everything he just saw. Even then, every detail stuck with him as though it just happened. Katsuki’s face was completely straight when studying hers. Pink lip gloss was still gorgeous on her. He fixed their hands so he could interlock their fingers.

Urarka blushed, visibly confused. “U-um, Bakugou? A-are you okay?”

“I’m fine.” He glanced at their hands, then back to her. “When I’m out of here, we should go on a date.”
