Captured

Summary:

“I’d bet money they’d fucking want me back” Bakugou almost had flashbacks. All Might wasn’t here to save him this time.

Uraraka held up her wrist to show a broken handcuff. “I’m on the capture list.”

Notes:

This is a deleted chapter from maladroit romance (another work of mine) and happens right before his dance lesson with Uraraka.

BOOM!

CRASH!

“GO TO FUCKING HELL!”

Bakugou shuffled through the woods of the training grounds. This wasn’t supposed to happen again. A small way too dangerous team of villains had infiltrated UA and begun their attack. Not only to take out one of the top Hero academy’s in all of Japan but to collect new members and kill off those who lacked potential. Although the attack had only begun a half an hour ago, The campus was an absolute disaster. One of the villains had a quirk allowing them to put a barrier around the place and sustain it. The only pro heros able to help them where the current staff. Present Mic put that absurd yelling to use to at least give them a plan.

First years we're meant to find a hiding spot under the building and protect it. Second years were tasked with finding first years and injured students and leading them too said hiding place. The third years however were given the most important tasks. To group together and fight. They damn near qualified as sidekicks at this point and it only made sense to have the most trained students assist the short staff. In the nick of time they found their respective hero costumes and threw them on fast as possible. There was no telling how many of them there were whole. By now Bakugou had taken out at least six or seven low level villains. By the look of the campus there were only a handful of absolute dangerous ones.

“Katsuki!” It was a loud, panicked voice. Turning on his heel, There stood Uraraka covered in scars and cuts and small tears in her costume. She approached him, eyes scouting the area for more villains. “I’m glad I found you. Are you hurt?”

“Not as bad as you are.” The two stood back to back as they talked. A method learned to keep all eyes on the operation. “Where is everyone?”

“They’re spread out. Everyone is all over and I think we might be the only ones in the forest area.”

“Fuck this.” Bakugo growled. Although it made sense since the parts closer to the main building would host more students. The two readied their battle stances at a rustle in the trees. Katsuki was ready to blast anyone but was stopped by the familiar face.

“Bakugou!”

Uraraka relaxed her stance “Oh thank god! It’s just you Sero..”

“I was so sure I was alone! But I’m happy we’re all here now!” The poor kid was also covered in bruises and marks. “They were coming at me with everything they had so I’m pretty sure I’m on the kill list.”

“I’d bet money they’d fucking want me back” Bakugou almost had flashbacks. All Might wasn’t here to save him this time.

Uraraka held up her wrist to show a broken handcuff. “I’m on the capture list.”

Bakugou’s heart sank. He couldn’t care any less about himself but there was no way in hell he was letting her get caught! It made him physically angerier to think about what villains like them would to to convert her to their side. Sero perked up “I got some info out of one of the low lives I fought. They said there's only one big bad guy in this area, towards the front. I’ve got no clue what their quirk is though.”

“Good enough for me.” Bakugou growled, readying some sparks in his hands “Let’s go blow their mother fucking head off!”

The trio ripped through the terrain. Every now and then kicking someone out of their way. Sero was quick using the tree branches while Uraraka and Bakugou ran behind them. They had went through so many real events like this and training this was no different. Still, The adrenaline filled the blonde all the way to his bones. As they got closer to the front they slowed down to keep a watchful eye for the villian. It was silent, still hearing the ruffle of flames on the burning campus. But It was just enough to let them hear an abnormality.

Bakugou huffed to himself ready to yell for the enemy “Where-”

Swift at the wind, an absurdly tall man in a mask appeared behind Bakugou. Metal chains we're wrapped around interlaced around his body and fingers. It was much harder to set off an explosion like this. Not to mention he couldn’t move at all.

“Bakugou!” Sero looked ready to attack, but guessing from his lack of doing so he didn’t want to hit his friend. “You bastard let him go.”

“Now why would I do that?” The mask had a smile drawn on for him. My paralysis quirk made me the perfect one to capture him. Now that I have what I want I can just have my lackies kill you off.”

“Choke on your own blood!” Small explosions set off but seemed to have little to no effect on the metal.

“Oh stop your bellyaching.” The villain pulled on the chains, painfully adjusting the blonde. You’re not even the prime target but since you were my first catch, I’m keeping you!” He wasn’t the prime target? Then who was?

“Let him go right now.” There stood Ochako looking the bravest she ever had.A level of determination that hadn’t been seen ever before. It was honestly quite frightening. “This is the third time someone’s almost been captured today and I’m sick of it. I have a deal for you.”

“Oh? A Deal? The champion is smart!” Things like this made Bakugou honestly think they should stop broadcasting the sports festival at this point. “What do you want?”

“Firstly,” She held up her hand. “Let him go, and I’ll go with you. I’m the target right?”

“Don’t be an idiot, Uraraka!” Sero panicked.

“Secondly, You call off the attack on campus. If you do that then I’ll willingly join your ranks. I’ll never try to escape or argue. I won’t rescue who you’ve taken.”

“Don’t you FUCKING DARE!”

The villain laughed through his mask “You run a hard bargain. Fine.” Bakugou was released and promptly kicked to the side. His body still paralyzed from the quirk. Sero took this as his opening to attack. It started off well, with his tape matching the chains. However, the moment the villain got a hand on him he was paralyzed as well. Ochako slowly walked across the opening to get to their side.

“Ochako, STOP!”

“I have to make sure you’re all safe, Katsuki. Hero’s sacrifice themselves for the greater good. Their safety, their lives.”

“PLEASE!” With all the strength he had, the boy reached out and grabbed her ankle. His body felt a sharp pain through every muscle at the simple movement. “You can’t! Just let them take me and go save everyone!”

A band of tape also wrapped around her ankle. It wasn’t strong and behaved more like a loosely tied piece of rope. “We can find a way to fight! We can do this without losing anyone!”

“Boys..” Uraraka knelt down next to their lifeless bodies and gave them both a hug. Seeing that lovely bright smile now made Bakugou heart sink and eyes water. “Sero, take care of everyone, I trust you. And Katsuki..” She plants a small kiss on his forehead then stood up. “I love you.”

“OCHAKO!” Bakugou hollered. The girl easily removed herself from their grips and stood by the villains side. Their handshake confirmed the tragic agreement.

“YOU’RE A HERO! YOU CAN’T BE A FUCKING TRAITOR!” Bakugou kept yelling after them, hot tears running down his face trying to say anything to get her back.

“You..You can’t go! You can’t!” His body staggered him to a halt every time he tried to move. He couldn’t reach out to get her, he couldn’t yell loud enough for her to hear him anymore, he couldn’t save her.

“I FUCKING LOVE YOU!”

_____________________________________

Bakugou shook himself awake. That was the most intense, vivid nightmare he had since he had been kidnapped. His face was planted into his pillow which must’ve muffled all the yelling he did in his sleep. Super sound absorbing pillows since apparently he yelled a lot in his sleep according to his mother. The blonde turned looking at his hand that was still shaking from the fear. He stood up, did a few easy stretches to make sure his body could move fully and that his quirk could still be activated. Part of him wanted to text Sero and make sure he was okay as well.

If that dream wasn’t a violent awakening that he was head over heels for her, he wasn’t sure what was. Uraraka was too strong to give in that easily. Although for the sake of a whole school and staff it wasn’t too clear. He let himself get beat down in that dumbass dream. In the waking world Bakugou knew he had to be aware and yet it still wasn’t enough. He wanted to help people and save them like a true hero. To fight so creeps like that don’t get the upper hand in the world. To keep the people precious to him safe as well. Not paralyzed next to him and not in the hands of the wicked. It was just a dream yet now Bakugou was so shaken up about her. This type of stuff was likely why heros stayed single most their lives. Although that would probably be a wise choice his heart still beat out of his chest just thinking about her. He figured it was better to fight side by side than be separated and having nightmares.

Tomorrow the two had dance lessons with midnight after class. After watching her get hurt and thinking about this he knew seeing her would be awkward. All he wanted to do was protect her when she needed it and love her peacefully. Even if their calling was a highly defensive career, maybe if they could have a moment alone together he could make her feel..safe. A stretch for someone so violent by nature to be sure. If would be fine if she didn’t accept him too. It would hurt his heart but he knew he’d end up fine. Though Katsuki had his sights set on trying to be someone she could rely on and go to for help or fun.

He just wanted her to feel safe.
