Chapter Text
Indeed the saying is true about how you are able to see your life flash before your eyes, she thought as the blinding light of the enormous truck loomed over her insignificant figure. Like a warm blanket death embraces her being while her mind gives her a vivid flashback on her childhood memories making her remember her dead parents’ faces while also regretting how her cat Luna will be left behind to her younger sister, she just wish she plays with Luna as often as she can.
She didn’t even have the time to react with how quick death claimed her, but even if it was brief it was painful though sadly on her part she didn't really get to savor the once in a lifetime experience of dying. After death came darkness and now like a lost voyage in the wide mass of water her being floated, awaiting an eternity of slumber.
Death is scary, that is one thing that she now fully understand, she don't really believe in any religious nor spiritual shenanigan people say about, how after death you'll be judged whether you go to the sweet old heaven where you'll be blessed with never ending bliss or in hell where you'll find yourself persecuted with never ending suffering, her personal mandate was she don't see the fairness of those, maybe all those talk was just some sort of comfort to the people that is on the brink of death. Nevertheless with even all those thoughts all she can do is await her supposed punishment, where she can possibly forget her existence altogether.
Time did pass, uncertainty looming beyond her being, unsure of who she is and why she’s even there, a cruel punishment of boredom was something anyone doesn't wanna submit to.
Except now a knowing smile hovers her unformed soul, like some cruel joke, fate turned its gears, her former tattered thread of life was plucked out of its seams with a familial hand and was given to the three pairs of hands in which the woman who beared the smile specifically asking them a favor to take care of such delicate yet persistent thread.
After all that darkness came a blinding light, a shrill of a voice filled the all too familiar room, the invasive smell of disinfectant invaded one's nose, unfamiliar hands are guiding her, a voice somewhere said to her that she was a gift, a wishful gift, but with her disorientedness her adult consciousness slipped away, fortunately enough.
Later on she discovered that she was reincarnated, she was now constantly being tormented on the fact that she is now treated like a baby, but at the same time it was a delight since she is now experiencing isekai, that she used to read, for she vowed to live a life of no regret unlike her former one.
Unbearably she endured the next years trying to talk and lift her eyelids, she gained a family full of warmth and acceptance, with the constant reminder that she was loved for that she desperately clung on this new environment having known how it is to have neglectful parents. Her days was always full, with two caring brothers, even with the big age gap with the oldest Hari or as she likes to call him Harhar already a working adult in some “Fancy” Academy but still finds the time to play with her while the middle child Honesto being the prankster of the family, it was indeed a fulfilling life. Then she have this set of parents that is just full of mirth and love, her mother is a tattoo artist apparent with her decorated skin that seems to shine along with her olive skin while on the other hand her father is a principal in some public elementary, they were the complete opposite so it was always a delight when her father would always swoon and smile like a fool when he see the woman he married.
Oddly enough unlike her former world she realized that this one she now resides in is not ordinary at all, at first she thought it was her childish mind playing cruel tricks on her but the old lady next day always seem to glow, like some sort of halo you usually don’t see on people.
“Why you glouing” she asked at the age of four, slightly grimacing that she still can’t pronounce her ‘r’s, which is still her biggest insecurities.
The old lady looked at her, figure flickering making you see a glimpse of a beautiful woman with long, braided chocolate-brown hair adorned with gold ribbons accompanied with her smiling eyes, then like an illusion it was gone, but even with that speed it was ingrained in the girl’s mind, steering her very soul.
“Hiraya…” she whispered very slowly like a mother coaxing its child, “my little gift, you have good eyes and for that I am proud” with that she patted the girl’s almost red but auburn hair, then continued to enter her apartment.
Even with all that odd things the lady said Hiraya always visited the lady, bringing various things to amuse the old neighbor, the smile the old lady was always present on her face but later on the old soul understood why that expression seem to always pained her, Mrs. Brown is a married woman with four children but her husband was unfaithful, always bringing in their former home many illegitimate children.
Hiraya asked where her husband was and the old lady just smiled silently then offered her some hot cocoa, as such she didn’t ask anymore.
