Hermione has a secret. Since her 21st birthday, she has been cursed, forced to submerge herself in moonlit waters every full moon to transform into a mermaid. Determined to undo the ancient magic, she travels to a remote island in search of the Chalice of First Waters. There, she finds Draco Malfoy, fresh out of Azkaban, hardly reformed but dangerously alluring, and pursuing the same artefact. As reluctant allies, they explore the island and uncover a connection darker than the sea itself.

Malfoy moved in behind her in the water. His breath brushed her neck, the only warmth on her prickling skin. His hands wrapped around her, pulling her tail flush against the hard line of his body.“Even now,” he whispered, “with your scales, the shimmer, the sand clinging to your skin…” His fingers tightened, anchoring her to him. “I want you. I want to be inside you.”
She gasped, but didn’t pull away.
“Tell me, Granger,” he murmured, “do you shiver because you’re cold, or because you know I want you exactly as you are?”
