When Sentinel rose to power and with the loss of the Matrix of Leadership, free-flowing energon seemed to disappear overnight. This drastic drop in energon reserves shook the planet and affected many parts of society. In order to fill in the gaps of the working force behind mining energon, Sentinel implemented a planet-wide push for cold-construction. Sure, factory makes are fine, but it took longer to form without an already present spark. Simply taking a spark and putting it into a ready-made frame was supposed to fix their crisis.
Why have a sparkling that takes up too much energon in the already limited supply and who couldn’t even regulate its hunger like a fully-formed frame would have? The cold-construction was a way to get rid of the inconvenience of sparklings and give their planet a fighting chance of survival. There was always a hidden message behind it that the boom of sparklings would be here once Sentinel found the Matrix.
For now, they just had to bide their time. They were doing their part for their home, city, planet, and Cybertronian kind! Who would disagree with this (at least not to Sentinel’s face)? Besides, the cold-construction was similar to sparkling incubation! Both resulted in a bot that went through a period of time for incubation and said bot came from a spark, but cold-construction only needed a piece of one spark. This was a rather painful procedure, but the reward was worth it! It wasn’t like carrying and the birth was any easier!
Instead of a nothing-minded sparkling, a cold-constructed bot was ready to hit the ground running with all of the data from the parent spark. Morals and personality vary and were completely teachable, so there was still a learning curve just like any sparkling! At least, they didn’t have to waste time teaching Cybertronian. No, they just needed to be mentored a little before they were ready to work and contribute to society! You still got a mini you!
Any respectable bot would take this route! Heck, the price could be subsidized (depending on your career) as it contributed to all Cybertronians!
Do cold-construction today! Sentinel and your people need more of you!
