Work Text:

The morning light filtering through Tim’s curtains wakes him up and he’s surprised to see that it’s already past nine in the morning. Even though it’s cloudy and raining outside, there’s a decent amount of outside light coming in. Tim usually never sleeps in, but a certain brunette has changed his life in the absolute greatest ways. Yesterday, their friends helped move the last of Lucy’s things into their house. There is truly no better feeling than waking up with Lucy in his arms.

Tim turns over and sees that Lucy is still sleeping. She’s curled into her pillow and her hair is cascading around her. Her face is glowing and even though he loves every version of Lucy, this might just be his favorite one.

Instead of getting out of bed, he maneuvers his arms around Lucy and even in her sleep, she automatically moves closer to him. Tim doesn’t want to get out of bed. He is comfortable right where he is. They spent the better part of the night celebrating the fact that Lucy had moved in. He closes his eyes and manages to fall back asleep. They’d unpacked a lot yesterday and had the entire week off together. Neither were in a rush to go anywhere or do anything.

When Tim wakes up again, he sees that it’s not past eleven. Lucy’s eyes are closed and her lips are pursed together. He moves some hair out of her face and places a kiss on her lips. “Mmm, babe.” Lucy mumbles. Tim moves the rest of her hair out of her face.

“Good morning sleepyhead.” He can hear the rain hitting the windows and is in no rush to get out of bed. This moment is all that he cares about. “I’ve woken up with you so many times, but this feels different. It’s the best kind of different.”

Tim knows exactly what she means. “It’s because you are going to wake up this way every day for the rest of your life. You don’t ever need to go back to your place because your place is right here.”

Lucy smiles up at him sleepily and snuggles further into his arms. “You’re my home.” Tim wraps his arms around her tighter. “I love that this is our house now.”

“Me too, Luce. I can’t wait for you to add more of your touches here.” Tim runs his hand up and down her back.

“Do I have free reign?” Lucy is teasing him and knows that.

“I mean, I trust you.” Tim feels her hair tickle his chest. He really loves when Lucy lays her head on his stomach.

“I have so many plans for painting. I think we should start with our bedroom. Maybe we can do a bright pink.” Tim’s eyes go wide and he can feel Lucy’s laugh vibrate on his chest. “I’m kidding babe. I was thinking of painting it a light blue. It reminds me of you and I think it’ll go with the aesthetic in here.”

Tim chuckles. “I trust you, Luce, but please no bright colors.” She giggles and traces circles along his chest.

“I promise, nothing too bright. What about a pale yellow for the living room? It’ll match the furniture that we picked out.” They had gone out the week before to pick out new living room furniture and a new bed. Tim currently has a queen size bed, but they both agreed they wanted a king size bed. They also wanted something sturdier. Having had to replace Lucy’s bed once before, they didn’t want to have that happen again. “I think it’s perfect and blue is perfect for our room. It’ll lighten it up.” Tim has always had gray or white walls. He’s excited for something new.

“Really?” The excitement in Lucy’s voice makes it worth it.

“Yes, I love both of those. We can pick out samples this week and see what works best. Not today though. Today, I just want to cuddle with you in bed and do nothing else.”

This really surprises Lucy. “Wait, you willingly want to stay in bed all day? What have you done with my boyfriend?” Tim shakes his head and leans her head up so they are looking at each other.

“You came into my life and changed it in the best ways. What can I say? You’ve shown me that it's okay to not always be in a routine. Being with you is my favorite thing to do. It’s raining, we’ve unpacked mostly everything, and we have the week off together.” Tim says it as though it’s the easiest thing in the world.

“I’m okay with that. I thoroughly enjoy cuddling with you in bed. I’m glad we got most of the unpacking done. It’s one less thing to worry about and we can really enjoy our week off with each other.”

Lucy’s stomach grumbles and she shoves her face into his chest. “I decided to order lunch for us. It’s almost lunchtime anyways and cooking requires leaving you for too long.”

Lucy loves this cuddly, clingy version of Tim and wouldn’t change a thing about it. While they wait for their lunch, they chat about the house and where they want to hang decorations. Tim surprised her with some of his favorite pictures of them that he made into a collage. Once the food arrives. Tim quickly grabs it and then brings it back into their room. “Wow, we are even eating in bed?” Lucy teases him.

“I told you that I didn’t want to leave bed.” He brings out the food tray he has. Tim had gotten their absolute favorite burgers which is exactly what Lucy wanted.

“And my favorite burgers? You really know how to spoil a girl.” She bumps her shoulder against his and he just smirks.

“Only the best for my favorite person.” Tim sets their food out and they eat, quietly talking about a few more things that they’d love to do. They’ve had some minor disagreements, but for the most part have managed to compromise on most decisions.

“I think we’ve managed to figure most things out. I’m glad we purged both of our houses before we moved in together.” Lucy loves everything about the house. It’s perfect for them and perfect for when they have kids.

“So am I. It made it much easier to move your things in and you have better kitchen items than I did. I’m glad we kept your stuff.” Lucy kisses his cheek before grabbing their trash and throwing it away. Tim follows her and sees her looking outside.

His arms wrap around her from behind and her back is against his chest. “The rain is peaceful.”

“I do love the rain. I also love how sexy you make my clothes.” Tim’s lips attach to her neck.

“Babe.” Lucy says breathlessly. Tim opens the door and they walk outside. “Have you ever danced in the rain?”

Tim turns her around. “I haven’t ever had anyone special enough to dance in the rain with.” She goes to speak but cuts her off with a kiss. He fumbles with his phone and plays one of her favorite songs. “That was until I met you. May I have this dance?”

Lucy takes his hand and Tim pulls her onto the uncovered portion of the patio. It’s downpouring and they are already getting drenched, but it’s one of her favorite moments. “This is pretty perfect.”

Tim twirls her around. “How many more moves have you been hiding from me?” Her voice has a hint of teasing.

“Wouldn’t you like to know?” Lucy giggles and they continue their dance. “You’re my favorite dance partner.”

“And you are my forever dance partner, especially in the rain.” Her hands land on the back of his head and scratch the hairs on the back on his neck. “There’s something else I’ve always wanted to do in the rain.”

Tim raises his eyebrows at her. “What’s that?”

“I want to share a kiss with the love of my life in the rain.” Lucy whispers and Tim smiles at her.

“Well, we need to fulfill that, now don’t we?” Tim’s hands are on her back and they gently push her closer to him. His lips crash against hers and she doesn’t even feel the rain crashing around them. Their clothes are soaked through, but it also feels as though time stands still.

“Perfect.” Lucy says when they finally pull apart. “Thank you for sharing this with me.”

“There’s no one better. Now let’s go shower and get some dry clothes on. You’re shivering.” Lucy hadn’t even realized how cold she was. Tim tugs her shirt off once they’re inside and places their clothes in the dryer. He grabs her hand and leads her to the bathroom. The shower feels absolutely amazing and Tim kisses her as much as he can. “Have I told you how much I love this shower?”

“Maybe once or twice.” Tim mumbles into her skin. “It’s one of my favorite things too.”

After their shower, Tim hands Lucy a shirt and a clean pair of panties to put on. He throws on a clean pair of sweatpants with no shirt. “Back to bed?” Lucy looks at Tim who nods. They go right back to cuddling. “Today has been perfect, baby.”

“It really has.” Tim pulls her back into his arms. “I love you.”

“I love you too Tim. I love that this is how we started forever. I can’t wait to see what the future brings for us. I think we should promise to always find time for these quiet moments for us, no matter how busy we get.”

Tim hums. “I agree, Luce. We can’t forget each other, no matter what happens. I promise that I will always do my best to make time for this once a week.”

“That sounds perfect. Now, let’s take a small nap.” Lucy murmurs and they fall asleep wrapped in each other. The perfect start for their future.
