"Aren't the stars lovely tonight, Dark Cacao?" Pure Vanilla asked.
"They are. Like snowflakes frozen in time," Dark Cacao replied.
"You never agree to host celebration for the five of us. What is on your mind, friend?" Pure Vanilla asked.
"Straight to the point, I see. I suppose that obvious... The women are asleep, yes?" Cacao inquired.
Pure Vanilla nodded and he continued.
"To be truthful, I wanted to speak with you alone. I didn't want you to be suspicious of my intentions so I asked the others to attend. There's... been something I've wanted to tell you for a few years now."
"You have my ears, Cacao," Pure Vanilla hummed.
In the peaceful garden, Dark Cacao Cookie took a deep breath, his usual composed demeanor somewhat cracked. He looked at Pure Vanilla Cookie, standing before him in a soft beam of moonlight.
"In the midst of lives and stories, I've found myself gazing at you more often than not," Dark Cacao admitted, a bit embarrassed. "You've always been my most trusted friend, yet... there's an ache in my chest that I can't ignore anymore. Pure Vanilla... I love you. And if you choose to accept, I'd like to court you. I understand if you don't-"
He was cut off by soft lips on his rough ones. They were warm like a summer morning. Gentle like lamb's wool. Accepting like the Cookie Pure Vanilla was. They kissed for minutes, though it felt like a millennium. The kiss broke and Pure Vanilla spoke.
"I love you as well, Dark Cacao," Pure Vanilla smiled. "And though it may be complicated with us living in separate kingdoms, I'd love and be honored to court you."
Dark Cacao's mind went blank for two minutes. When reality returned, Pure Vanilla arms were around him neck and his arms were around Pure Vanilla's waist. Meanwhile, their lips were locked in a heated and passionate kiss. Dark Cacao would cherish this moment for years to come.
