They hit a red light near the intersection of Lumina Square. Traffic pressed in from both sides—cars, trucks, buses—thick and sluggish beneath the weight of the sun. Lighter brought the bike to a stop in the outermost lane, and the three of them leaned as one to balance the vehicle.
As the engine settled into idle, the gentle cruising gave way to a sharp, steady vibration, shaking the three men cramped along the narrow seat. Wise braced himself, breath hitching as the pressure shifted beneath—and inside—him.
