ManofSteel (6:24 PM) Hello all! I had a really great conversation with a lovely team of volunteers at the Metropolis Youth Center on the LGBT crisis team!
ManofSteel (6:26 PM) They mention that something that can help make LGBT youth more comfortable in a workplace setting is to include pronouns in a professional setting.
ManofSteel (6:27 PM) They mentioned that having the entire workplace (or in our case team) input their pronouns in a professional manner, like at the end of their emails in an automatic signoff,
ManofSteel (6:28 PM) can help in making non-binary pronouns more accessible and less stigmatized!
ManofSteel (6:28 PM) And since many of you have children who are on teams of their own or work in some capacity with the Justice League, I thought it might be nice to set a positive example for the heroes of tomorrow!
WonderWoman (6:56 PM) Kal-El, this is a wonderful idea! It is our duty as Earth's protectors to guide others toward a more positive, healthful future! And if this means we show our acceptance of those not conforming to the gender binary, than it shall be!
BackinaFlash (7:12 PM) We had those added to our work emails at the lab and i think it made a big differencd for a lot of older analysts so they werent having to geuss so much

ManhuntingMartian (7:20 PM) I, too, wish to know what a ‘pronoun’ is.
ManofSteel (7:24 PM) Pronouns are used in place of a name. For example, Green Lantern has a ring, would become, He has a ring.
ManofSteel (7:25 PM) Or, Wonder Woman is over there, would become, She is over there.
ManofSteel (7:26 PM) But pronouns are also used in when a name is unknown, there are multiple subjects, or for those unconforming to the gender binary.
ManofSteel (7:26 PM) Such as, The Justice League is here, becomes, They are here. And, The monster is attacking, becomes They/It is attacking. And, Batman is in the rafters, becomes They/It is in the rafters.
BackinaFlash (7:29 PM) I didn't know Batman was NB! It's nice to know there is some representation on the main team!
WonderWoman (7:31 PM) Yes, I have confirmed that their pronouns include They and It.
