Summary
Steve's situation came to him with startling clarity. Could he hook up with a guy? Who took the...girl role? What if they didn't agree, was it over before it began? He might cry out of sheer disappointment if that happened. What if Eddie asked for something he'd never done? A concern since Steve hadn't done any 'guy stuff'. God, he really was the worst gay ever! There was nothing for it, he'd have to tell Eddie he wasn't getting laid, Steve was a bust and he'd see himself out. All thoughts evaporated as he saw Eddie. It didn't feel so scary. Eddie stood brazenly with scars falling down his neck to his chest and over one arm, and if he could be so vulnerable, so could Steve.
Or...Robin and newly bisexual Steve try to navigate their first foray in to a gay bar and dating. They're hopeless. Eddie takes Steve home and leads him through his first experience. They bond over past injuries and Steve slowly learns to bare his body again, which had been hidden for too long. He's anxious and scared and self conscious, but he's sure of one thing, Eddie. This is a tale of awkward dating, even more awkward first times and the softness that comes with finding your person, two sides of the same coin.
