To Fix a Sweet Tooth

Summary:

Sua hates sweets. Mizi and Hyuna are determined to change her mind.

Hyuna took a sip of her shake, seeming deep in thought. “Do you think you’d enjoy sweets if tasted in… smaller doses?”

“Maybe? What are you suggesting?” Sua questioned.

Mizi fluttered her lashes, leaning forward on her elbows. Her eyes were bright, but her tone was patronizing. “Sua, doll, use that pretty head of yours, what do you think?”

Work Text:

“Are there any desserts you do like?”

Sua‘s cheeks turned a rosy pink. She stared down at her glass, stirring the water with her straw. “I like bingsu,” she mumbled, eyes still refusing to meet Hyuna’s.

Hyuna laughed, not out of cruelty; she would never intentionally insult Sua. “Yeah, with no toppings, except for a little fruit when you’re feeling adventurous.”

Sua opened her mouth to defend herself, but her mind went blank. Defeated, she went back to fiddling with her straw.

“Sua, sweetheart, you know we’re just teasing, right?” Mizi giggled as she wrapped her arm around her girlfriend. “Your quirks are so adorable.”

Sua simply nodded, finally averting her gaze to peek at her companions. It was Mizi’s turn to choose a place for the three girls to hang out. Of course, with a tooth as sweet as her heart, she chose a dessert cafe. Hyuna and Mizi both ordered elaborate shakes. Mizi chose a strawberry base covered in fudgey syrup, while Hyuna decided on cookie dough topped with caramel.

Sua ordered water.

It’s not like she wanted to be completely out of place. Sua couldn’t change her preferences, after all. Yet, she can’t help but feel self-conscious. Mizi and Hyuna aren’t really mocking her… are they?

The conversation has moved on—Hyuna and Mizi are slandering someone else now, most likely Till—but Sua’s still red from embarrassment. Should she ask for clarification? Is this why they don’t go out often? They must think she’s stupid…

“Sua!” Mizi’s voice interrupted her spiraling. “Did you hear what we said?”

No, no she did not. “Yes?”

Hyuna smirked as she adjusted her messy bun, her arms crossed behind her head. “Girl, you are such a terrible liar.” At Sua’s disgruntled expression, Hyuna giggled and added, “No, no, it’s cute!”

“Is this about you being picky?” Mizi said, eyes scanning Sua’s face. When Sua pursed her lips, Mizi exclaimed, "Aha, it is!”

Sua tried to conceal her blush behind her drink, taking a long sip of water. As her lips hovered over the glass, she noticed how intensely Mizi and Hyuna gazed at her. Oh. So her preferences are that bad.

Sua set her drink down, her stomach twisting in humiliation. “I’m sorry for being so difficult,” she sighed, “I’m—it’s immature of me.”

Hyuna’s eyes widened, her hands dropping to her sides. “What? Oh, Sua, we didn’t mean to make you feel insecure.”

A hand squeezed her shoulder. Sua lifted her face to look at Mizi’s apologetic one, “We’re so sorry! We were just teasing, that’s all! Being picky isn’t bad, it’s no big deal,” She rambled.

Her poor girlfriend sounded so guilty, and Hyuna appeared remorseful as well—how could Sua not forgive them? “It’s alright, you two,” Sua giggled, “I just wish I wasn’t so fussy.”

“Have you tried a milkshake before?” Mizi asked, licking her lips.

Sua nodded, “Once, with my unnie, I thought it was far too saturated.” She remembered that afternoon vividly. The taste of the chocolate, rich and intense, lingering on her tongue. Her sister’s scowl when Sua’s lips betrayed her feigned apathy, twisting into a grimace. Most of all, she remembered the swelling of her face, and the ache in her heart.

Hyuna took a sip of her shake, seeming deep in thought. “Do you think you’d enjoy sweets if tasted in… smaller doses?”

“Maybe? What are you suggesting?” Sua questioned. Mizi and Hyuna exchanged a knowing look, leaving Sua feeling clueless.

Mizi fluttered her lashes, leaning forward on her elbows. Her eyes were bright, but her tone was patronizing. “Sua, doll, use that pretty head of yours.” As she spoke, Mizi lifted a finger and tapped Sua’s forehead. “What do you think?”

What?! Sua’s face burned at the condescension. Why were they still teasing her? Didn’t they just apologize? What was she missing—oh! Of course, how could she be so foolish?

They wanted to split their milkshakes with her.

“I’ll grab a spoon,” Sua said, beginning to stand.

One moment she was rising from the chair, and the next she was engulfed in a warm embrace, soft, familiar lips capturing her own. Startled, her mouth parted slightly, and her partner—Mizi, Sua recognized—took the opportunity to deepen the kiss, tongue slating against her own.

Her mind felt numb. She could only think of the soft fingers trailing down her arm; the plush, delicate lips fervently devouring her. Mizi was warm, so very warm, and she tasted like sunshine and heaven and… a hint of chocolate?

“Wait,” Sua panted, breath mingling with Mizi’s. “Is this what you guys—wait—fuck.” Guys. As in more than Sua and Mizi. As in they had an audience.

Albeit an audience of one person, it was an audience nonetheless.

Sua shoved Mizi away—the little minx looked quite proud of herself. Fuck. Sua desperately wanted to kiss the smirk off her face. She managed to fight the urge, peeking at Hyuna instead who…

…looked equally as smug as Mizi?

“How was that?” Hyuna hummed. Were her lips always that glossy? Sua couldn’t remember.

Since Sua was malfunctioning, Hyuna answered for her, “It looked like you enjoyed yourself.”

Next to Sua, Mizi giggled; her pupils were dilated and her lips were soaked with spit. Sua took a moment to thank the stars that no one else was outside.

Mizi’s voice was chipper as she spoke, “Mhm, I think so, but she should broaden her horizons, don’t you think?”

“Of course,” Hyuna agreed. Her voice was rough. Since when was her voice so rough? Apparently, Sua was learning a lot of things about Hyuna today, like how her hands felt, calloused and confident, around her waist. Or how her lap felt as Sua was being pulled down onto it.

Hyuna’s lips, chapped and harsh, met her own, but whereas Mizi kissed her with fierce passion, Hyuna kissed languidly. Her fingers gently danced across Sua’s waist, handling her like she was a porcelain doll. Delicate. Vulnerable.

Hyuna tentatively nipped at her lip, and Sua parted her mouth obediently. Hyuna immediately drew Sua’s tongue between her teeth, coaxing a startled whimper from Sua’s throat. Fuck. Hyuna tasted sharp and smoky. She tasted faintly like caramel. She tasted like someone Sua wanted to kiss forever.

Forever did not last long. Hyuna pulled away suddenly, and, despite herself, Sua softly whined at her absence. “Don’t worry, princess,” Hyuna murmured, “we’ll do this another time.”

Sua felt wetness trickle down her cheeks, flushing as she realized it was her tears. She felt equally as delighted as she felt overwhelmed. She just kissed Hyuna in front of Mizi. Mizi liked it. Oh, fuck, did they orchestrate this whole thing? Did this mean—

Comforting arms wrapped around her, enveloping her in warmth, and making her forget all her worries. Pink hair cascading over Sua’s head from above. Rough hands cradled her from behind.

“Oh, Sua, my angel,” Mizi whispered into her hair, leaving soft kisses atop her head, “my sweet, sweet-hating angel.”
