Carlo smiled at him and Romeo’s thoughts were lost. They remained in delicate silence for a while.
“Thank you for coming back.” Carlo said gently, looking down to their linked fingers. “Nobody ever comes back.”
“I will.” Romeo didn’t know what he was saying, he only knew that that quiet sadness didn’t belong on Carlo’s face. “As often as you want. Whenever you need me.”
